The advantages and disadvantages of the Datsun mi-DO 2018-2019 in a new body are identified based on feedback from real owners. More detailed pros and cons of Datsun mi-DO with mechanics and automatic can be found in the stories below.

Owner reviews

The engine is taut. Clearance in 174 — just a gift for a beginner. Shumka is not up to par, but we must not forget for what money it was bought (506,000 rubles + 30,000 for dopa). The engine-box pair works perfectly — the little car is very smart. Excellent review. Space and simplicity under the hood.

Matvey, drives Datsun mi-DO 1.6 (87 hp) AT 2015

I have been driving this “Japanese” for 5 months now, everything pleases me. It is better to fill in 95 gasoline, the engine runs cleaner, does not ring, although the difference is imperceptible in terms of dynamics. Gasoline consumption is great. The on-board computer showed 7.4 liters per 888 km. The stove also works well, everything is blown everywhere, the windows do not fog up.

There are also disadvantages. The front brake pads make a lot of noise. Some kind of squabble in the engine compartment, trifling, something, somewhere not fixed, too lazy to look, and rattles ... (crankcase protection rattled, poorly fixed when installed in a car dealership ... drove for two months and listened to rattling))) And the biggest the disadvantage is the buildup of the entire front panel with instruments. It feels like it will fall off, as if the tape recorder weighs 10 kg and it is he who shakes the entire instrument panel.

Video review

It is unpleasant to see positive reviews, because. they give others the wrong impression of the car. The main drawback of mi-DO is the unreliability of the car. The car can easily stall while driving. And if you start from the beginning - immediately after 3 km after the car dealership - I threw out the factory wipers, because. they do not clean even at positive temperatures.

Consumption is really amazing - 14.5 (!) Liters in the city, 11 - mixed mode! what other car with 87 hp capable of that? The doors are made of thin metal, they ring terribly (I'll fix it with a vibration noise in the summer). Crickets when leaving the dealership IMMEDIATELY! (truth found and eliminated, but there are new ones all the time).

Hello review readers! My name is Tatyana. In March, I bought a Datsun mi-DO car and I want to share with you my impressions of the car I bought. Thanks to its dimensions, the car allows you to park almost anywhere. But I also advise lovers of fishing and summer holidays - with its high ground clearance, the DO easily copes with country roads. On the highway, it does not eat much 7-8 l / km, which again is a plus for economical fuel consumption and saving your money.

Where can I buy?

Bought for southern roads and the same weather. Bought consciously. Higher clearance, automatic, air conditioning, small size and lack of interest from hijackers, as well as maintainability.

Of the advantages, I note the dynamics during acceleration. Automatic without any failures. The air conditioning is very good, actually does not take power. Clearance pleased, and so far I have not scurried about the curbs. Brakes peppy, tenacious. I was pleased with the behavior on the serpentine. Pret and still can overtake!

I like the look. At least there is something of its own - the Japanese flagship! Visibility is also good, there are virtually no blind spots in front and from the sides.

Of the shortcomings - the budget in everything. The feeling that you are going in a bucket, but it does not rattle yet, but it hums beautifully. Of course, who uses constantly, it would be nice to make soundproofing. The interior is spartan. For long distances - goodbye back.

You open the hood, and you can shed a tear for the Japanese. A funny "eight" motor sticks out. They didn’t even think of how to cover this shame. But, I think, any wood climber will cope with the repair.

Review of Datsun mi-DO 1.6 (87 hp) on automatic 2016

I am 75 years old, disabled of the 2nd group since 2003 due to leg disease. The experience of accident-free driving on different brands of Zhiguli MT is 45 years. I bought a 2016 Datsun mi-Do AT in September. This was prompted by shares in recycling programs and trade-in.

For 4 months of the autumn-winter period, I drove over 3,000 km. along the main and country roads. The pendant is wonderful. The car seemed to me fantastically convenient and as comfortable as possible. Management is perfectly easy. Nimble and mobile in the parking lots. Easily turns around on a two-lane road with one run.

Good comfortable seats (heated). Air conditioning and climate control work perfectly and with a large margin. Quiet enough in the cabin when driving. Nothing creaks and does not blow anywhere. Gasoline consumption in the city from 8 to 10 liters. The set of speeds more than satisfies me. The review is good.

I would like brighter panel lighting and AT switch knob lighting. There is also a lack of windshield heating and winter automatic engine warm-up. A bigger trunk wouldn't hurt either.

Vasily Novikov, review of the Datsun mi-DO 1.6 automatic 2016

Revived a few years ago, the Datsun brand continues to develop the Russian range of modifications of the on-DO sedan and the mi-DO hatchback. Last November, we recall, the sedan received a version with an automatic transmission, and in September of this year, Datsun dealers began accepting orders for on-DO and mi-DO with a 16-valve engine. In order to find out how the on-DO rides with a new engine for it and whether the increase in 19 forces (compared to the 8-valve engine) is worth the extra charge that they ask for it, the Dvizhka columnist went to Armenia.

More powerful than before, Datsun on-DO and mi-DO received the “127th” AvtoVAZ engine, well-known to domestic motorists, with a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 106 hp. With.

The same motor is installed on models such as Lada Granta, Kalina, Priora.

Before installing the VAZ engine under the hoods of their cars, the engineers of the Russian representative office of Datsun thoroughly modernized it, since its original version, according to them, “did not live up to the brand standards.”

In particular, specialists from Datsun recalibrated the “127th” motor, used the main pair with a gear ratio of 3.9, and also improved the engine cooling system.

As a result, according to official statements, the elasticity of acceleration and the dynamics of cars have improved, and traction control has become more convenient. According to Datsun, on-DO and mi-DO with an upgraded “16-valve” are smoother than the 106-horsepower Ladas, they start off, and also accelerate without jerks and delays after changing gears.

In addition, Datsun engineers made adjustments to the fan, which improved the efficiency of the engine cooling system; the air conditioning clutch on the 16-valve Datsun turns on more smoothly than before. Brand representatives also claim reduced fuel consumption at idle. And they say that Lada cars of the Granta / Kalina families will not receive an improved engine.

Along with the new motor, the on-DO and mi-DO also received a number of improvements aimed, as Datsun says, "to improve comfort and 'touch' quality." In particular, door seals have been changed, the operation of the rear door lock has been improved, and the noise insulation of the engine compartment has been strengthened. The luggage rack on the mi-DO is easier to remove; both cars received new speakers with an extended frequency range and a smoother frequency response.

How does it all work in practice? The upgraded "127th" motor is especially pleasing in the city. First of all, confident traction from the very bottom: even when starting on a difficult climb, there is no hint that the car may stall. The clutch pedal, in turn, is quite informative - I would only like the clutch to “grab” closer to the beginning of the pedal stroke.

On the track, questions about the 16-valve on-DO, oddly enough, arose. Of course, we did not expect the dynamics of a sports car from a 106-horsepower B-class sedan, but the lack of traction when accelerating from urban to suburban speeds in fourth gear was a surprise.

We leave the city of Spitak in the direction of Dilijan, sung in the film "Mimino". On the outskirts - a very small slope, but a long rise. Fourth gear, on the tachometer - 2500 rpm, and ... a sedan in which two people are sitting, and only a couple of travel bags in the trunk, as if "refuses" to accelerate and demands a "third". On a mountain road with “plugging” turns and constant elevation changes, everything becomes completely “sad”.

Reducing the speed to comfortable for hearing and economical in terms of fuel consumption of 2000-2500 by turning on IV-V gears is possible only on separate straights, on which the road does not go up. On most of the “serpentines” of Armenia, one has to maintain the speed above the mark of 3000. And listen, to put it mildly, not the most “musical” sound of the “127th” Togliatti engine.

And it would be nice if only one engine would vote! In the end, it does not press hard on the ears - thanks to the improved sound insulation of the engine compartment. But the “family” howl of the VAZ gearbox is actively mixed with the roar of the engine. When accelerating, it is especially clearly audible in second gear, when releasing gas - absolutely at all stages.

And this is especially disappointing, since the 5-speed manual box is set up for on-DO and mi-DO very well: the gears turn on clearly, and they switch without any extra effort; lever travel is long, but within reason.

And in general, the 106-horsepower on-DO rides well: it “steers” confidently, accelerates adequately to its power at medium and high speeds on a 4-lane highway, and the energy intensity of the suspension is such that even potholes half a wheel deep do not cause riders to slip any significant discomfort. On a rocky primer, you can not even go, but "blame" for all the money. By God - other crossover manufacturers could learn from Datsun engineers how to adjust the suspension! ..

You can only find fault with the fact that road bumps are regularly transmitted to the on-DO steering wheel. And also to the fact that the "steering wheel" itself is a little "cotton" in the near-zero zone.

What is the upshot?

To answer the question in the title, it's worth checking out the price list for the new Datsun on-DO and mi-DO with a 16-valve engine. The new motor is available for cars in medium and top trim levels: Trust and Dream. Surcharge for it is 15 thousand rubles.

Datsun on-DO 1.6 16v, thus, costs from 515,000 rubles, 106-horsepower mi-DO - from 566,000 rubles. An alternative for that kind of money at the present time is only the “so-platform” Granta and Kalina and the Uzbek Ravon.

It should also be noted that for 15 thousand Datsun offers not only an additional 19 forces - brand representatives say that 16-valve cars have reduced operating costs and cost of ownership compared to previous 8-valve cars. Add to this innovation in terms of comfort.

In general, we say “Yes!” to Datsun cars with a new engine ...

Datsun he-Do and mi-Do are equipped exclusively with gasoline power units. Regarding the quality of fuel, it must meet certain standards. In addition, there are several recommendations, the implementation of which will significantly extend the life of the power unit.

Fuel Criteria

Datsun is allowed to use only unleaded gasoline. After all, leaded fuel affects the operation of the catalytic converter and quickly disables it.

Fill in Datsun only need AI-95

Other

The use of fuels with the addition of iron, lead, manganese and others (organometallic type) is strictly prohibited.

To guarantee a stable start of the engine at low temperatures, it is required to fill in gasoline with the appropriate volatility class, which is suitable for the climate of a particular region. Regarding the requirements for the class of fuel volatility for various regions of Russia, data are available in the standards for fuel for engines.

The use of additives of a multifunctional type, aimed at protecting the elements of the entire fuel system from all kinds of deposits and corrosion, is allowed. But such additives are added to gasoline at the manufacturing stage.

When refueling, it is necessary to control the volatility class.

Datsun is an unusual car based on Lada Granta. This car began to be produced in 2014, and AvtoVAZ and Nissan were engaged in production. Of course, many people are interested not only in technical specifications, but also in Datsun fuel consumption per 100 km. In general, the Datsun is significantly different from the Lada from the technical side, and there are also several global visual changes. Such a car belongs to the middle class and is quite cheap. You can find out in detail the information on the video on the network where the test drive is carried out.

Fuel consumption according to the passport

The most popular Datsun model is called he Do, but there are also mi Do on sale. The main differences between the two models are in the body, namely the sedan and hatchback, as well as in the gearbox and equipment. The sedan and hatchback have the same 8-valve engines with 87 hp. and a working volume of 1.6 liters. The base version only produces a sedan, which has a slightly lower power output of 82 hp, which slightly increases the cost of gasoline for the Datsun on-Do.

The main indicators of fuel consumption for a Datsun with a capacity of 82 hp the following:

  • In the urban cycle, the owner of the Datsun must spend 9.7 liters.
  • Consumption on the Datsun he Do on the track is 6.1 liters.
  • In the combined cycle, fuel consumption will reach up to 7.5 liters.

The more powerful version has slightly different performance:

  1. In urban mode, you will need to have 9 liters of gasoline for a 100 km drive.
  2. On the highway, consumption is reduced to 5.8 liters.
  3. With such a fuel consumption for a Datsun he Do in the city and on the highway, in the combined cycle, about 7 liters are obtained.

It can be seen that with more power, fuel consumption is reduced, since modern technologies and equipment are used. For the version with automatic transmission, fuel consumption figures will be higher and amount to:

  • In urban mode, gasoline consumption will be 10.4 liters.
  • In the extra-urban cycle, 6.1 liters per 100 km of track will be required.
  • In the combined cycle, approximately 7.7 liters are obtained.

The figures with an automatic transmission are higher, which is especially felt in the city, but the ride comfort is more. As for diesels, the Model does not have them, so it is impossible to say what diesel consumption the Datsun has on the highway or in the city. But among the latest updates, a 16-valve model has appeared on sale. The fuel consumption figures will be:

  • In the urban cycle, 8.5 liters will be required.
  • To drive on the highway for 100 km, you need 5.4 liters.
  • In the combined cycle, the car consumes 6.6 liters.

Datsun has a certain tendency that the more powerful the car, the lower the fuel requirements for driving.

Real indicators

Many car owners know that the actual fuel consumption is always different from that stated in the technical data sheet. This is due to the fact that the measurements are carried out in ideal conditions, on a flat road, without heavy traffic, which can be on the highway or in the city. If you believe the survey of the owners of this brand, then in the combined cycle, fuel consumption is approximately 7.5-8 liters per 100 kilometers. For units, the indicators differ up or down.

Such values are highly dependent on driving style, traffic jams, weather and total mileage, the condition of the car.

If we talk about the value in the city, then the survey does not give a clear answer, for many, the indicators are less than 8 liters and more than 10 l / 100 km. It is worth noting that for a new car, different errors are possible, but the values \u200b\u200bshould be close to the passport ones after 10,000 km of run.

Comparing the car and its performance with competitors, it can be noted that this model is not on the lowest rung and can seriously compete with many well-known foreign cars.

Is it possible to switch to 92 gasoline after running in? Will there be any problems with the engine and the warranty on it?

Rustik (Besian)  Andrey, Can you breathe another air?) Andrey (Yetunde)  bad comparison, people breathe the same air (there is no alternative), but this air has different qualities and properties.
and if you take this into account, then yes, I can breathe different air Aydar (Bercan)  it's possible, just 95 a little more economical than Rustik (Besian)  Andrey, everything is correct, only the body will work differently. Andrey (Yetunde)  and in most cases this difference is not noticeable.

Based on this, can I pour 92 benz without problems?) Ramis (Ludwika)  Initially I go to 92 Andrey (Yetunde)   "check" is not lit? How many skates, how does the engine feel?) Rustik (Besian)   Andrey, If the ECU is set to 95 octane, then why do you think you can fill in 92? Andrey (Yetunde) Calm down.
many pour 92 instead of 95 and all the rules.
I know for sure that the same grant engines eat 92 without problems and consequences. I am sure that the Datsun will swallow and not choke, but I would like to know for sure. Rustik (Besian)  Andrey, go learn the small materiel. Andrey (Yetunde) Why did you say that? Rustik (Besian) Andrey, besides, you don't know what you're talking about. Andrey (Yetunde)  What exactly do I not know?
Are you saying that I don't know a guy who drives a Lada Grant liftback with the same engine as a Datsun and has already driven 65,000 km and nothing has happened to the engine, besides a broken timing belt? (I doubt that the timing belt broke because of gasoline, but I'm not as well versed in engines as you are, so enlighten the sensei) Rustik (Besian)   Andrey, The engine that is installed on the Datsun 87hp. has only a superficial resemblance to the Lada engine. If you flash your Datsun for 92 gasoline, then you can safely drive and smile). But there is no point. Andrey (Yetunde)  therefore, the brand of the engine is "VAZ-11186", yes, it is logical. the similarities are only external, well, the nameplates on the engine are also exactly the same. Rustik (Besian)  and here is the 82 hp engine. straight from viburnum) Andrey (Yetunde)  82 strong engine is called "VAZ-11183"
as far as I know now they are no longer equipped with datsuns Alexey (Kurt)   Andrey, nothing bad will happen on the 92nd. In order not to be afraid at all, do not drive at low speeds under load, so as not to provoke detonation. The instructions clearly state: the recommended fuel is AI-95. Prohibition 92 is not mentioned. Andrey (Yetunde)  That's what it seems to me, I just want to find confirmation of this...
