A year later, Chevrolet releases a supersport modification of the Camaro SS. In 1962, the name “Malibu” appeared for the first time - it was the “top-end” Chevrolet Chevelle equipment. The attractive design of this model and rich equipment allowed the company to get a high level of sales and consolidate its position in the class of mid-size cars. With the advent of the 70s, Chevrolet modernizes its "muscle cars" making them more powerful and faster. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic. The basic versions are with front-wheel drive, which is supplemented by the Traction Mode Select system, which changes the mode of operation of the traction control electronics.
