The Lamborghini brand has a long and controversial history. In the 60s, Ferruccio Lamborghini, who produced tractors and is a very wealthy man, found several flaws in a Ferrari car and talked about this with Enzo Ferrari, but he was reasonably pointed out that his lot was a tractor, after which Lamborghini took up sports cars.

This hobby, which grew into a good business, showed the automotive world a new brand of sports cars - Lamborghini. But from 1972 to 1998, the brand was constantly at the stage of bankruptcy and changed five owners. Stability appeared only when moving under the wing of AudiAG.

For all the time, 18 independent models were released. Some models were sold in a piece copy, 120-300 cars each. And the best-selling model of all time was the Lamborghini Gallardo with more than 10,000 cars sold, which exceeds the combined sales of other relatives in the assembly shop.

A feature of this car is its engine, so beloved among tuning studios, because the base power is achieved without the use of turbines, which makes it possible to upgrade significantly. It is not surprising that several dozen Gallardos with a power of 1200 hp roam the world. And even a couple of cars with a power of 2000 hp.

Consider the technical characteristics of the most popular generations of Lamborghini Gallardo.

Lamborghini Gallardo 2003

Lamborghini has traditionally produced expensive cars, which may be why sales have been sedate. And the company decided to make a more affordable model that could spur sales. And such a model was, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003, Lamborghini Gallardo, which is a two-seater coupe with a rear engine.

Lamborghini Gallardo characteristics of the 2003 sample were as follows:

  • length - 4300 mm
  • width - 1900 mm
  • height - 1160 mm
  • wheelbase - 2560 mm
  • weight - 1430 kg.

The car had four-wheel drive. The engine on the car was a W-shaped (camber between the cylinders of 96 degrees) 10-cylinder, 5.0-liter, 500-horsepower naturally aspirated unit. Peak power is reached at 7800 rpm. Maximum torque 510 Nm at 4500 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds. The maximum possible speed is 309 km/h. Gearbox - mechanics, with six steps.

The cost of such a car during official sales was 165 thousand dollars, which is significantly less than the cost of the rest of the Lambo.

Lamborghini Gallardo Special Edition 2005

In 2005, a batch of only 250 cars was released called the Lamborghini Gallardo Special Edition. It featured a retuned engine, revised suspension, and a different color scheme from the regular Gallardo. The obligatory black color was applied to the rear-view mirrors, roof and engine hood.

The W10 engine was installed on the Special Edition, already delivering 520 hp. at 8000 rpm. The torque remained the same, 510 Nm, but its “shelf” dropped to 4250 rpm. Up to 100 km / h gallardo with a reconfigured engine accelerated in exactly 4 seconds. And the “maximum speed” has increased to 315 km/h. The gearbox has remained the same.

There were no changes in dimensions, but there were still additional technical updates:

  • The changes affected the chassis settings and the regular Gallardo tires were replaced with sports ones;
  • The steering wheel has also been reconfigured for more precise and linear control.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 2008

Slightly changing the design, in 2008 the new Gallardo was released and the main changes, according to tradition, were in technology. This car was marked LP560-4, where where LP is the designation of the mid-engine layout from the Italian Longitudinale Posteriore - "longitudinal rear", 560 - power, and 4 - the number of driving wheels.

This Lamborghini Gallardo specifications had the following:

  • slightly increased length - 4345 mm
  • width remains the same - 1900 mm
  • height 1165 mm, added 5 mm
  • wheelbase unchanged - 2560 mm
  • weight 1410 kg.

The car had four-wheel drive. The engine displacement was already 5.2 liters with a capacity of 560 hp. at 8000 rpm. A torque of 540 Nm of thrust was achieved at 6500 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km / h is 3.7 seconds, and the maximum possible speed is 325 km / h. Fuel consumption reaches almost 20 liters in city mode, which is comparable to a large SUV, but the privilege of exchanging the first "hundred" in less than 4 seconds is worth it.

An interesting novelty in the technical equipment of this model is the system for lifting the front of the car to pass through an obstacle, which is available with just one push of a button. The LP 560-4 is also optionally equipped with a carbon-ceramic brake system with brake discs with a diameter of 36.5 cm.

As for the body color, in addition to the standard colors, customers were offered 3 exclusive colors: Matte white - Bianco Canopus, matte black - - Nero Nemesis and matte brown - Marrone Apus.

Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni 2009

This car model, which is named after Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni, is a rear-wheel drive version of the LP560-4. The circulation of LP550-2 was only 250 copies.

Due to the fact that the sports car remained only 2-wheel drive, it became 30 kg lighter than the LP560-4, but the Balboni engine was derated from 560 to 550 hp. With. Due to the reconfiguration, acceleration to 100 km / h became a little slower - 3.9 seconds, and the maximum speed was 320 km / h. The car is equipped with a modified E-gear robotic gearbox.

The Gallardo Balboni is available in eight body colors and features gold-embossed white racing stripe decals that run throughout the car as a distinguishing feature.

Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera 2010

The new top model in the Gallardo Lamborghini line is the LP 570-4 Superleggera, based on the LP560-4. The main advantage of the LP 570-4 Superleggera can be called a weight of 1340 kg, which makes this sports car the lightest Lamborghini model, while the dimensions of the car are as follows:

  • length - 4386 mm
  • width - 1900 mm
  • height - 1165 mm
  • wheelbase - 2665 mm.

The car is equipped with the same 5.2-liter V10 engine, but with a power of 570 hp. With. with an aluminum cylinder block. Maximum torque is reached at 6500 rpm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 325 km/h. Fuel consumption is reduced by 20.5% compared to the base LP 560-4. A six-speed E-gear transmission comes standard, with a manual transmission available for free instead.

Update 2013

In 2013, the appearance of the car was slightly updated, a new front bumper, a different pattern on the rims, a new interior trim, but the technical stuffing of the supercar remained the same. It still comes with a 5.2-liter V10 engine with 560 hp. With..

There is nothing to radically change, Gallardo is powerful and fast, light and at a moderate cost. Competitors from Porsche, of course, are not asleep, but there is no longer any need to face them for marketing reasons, because both Porsche and Lamborghini belong, one way or another, to the Volkswagen Group. In addition, there are older models, in the segment of which Gallardo should not fall.

12 Valves: 4 Max. speed: 309 km/h Acceleration to 100 km/h: 4.2 s Combined fuel consumption: 19.5 l/100 km Fuel consumption in the urban cycle: 29.1 l/100 km Fuel consumption on the highway: 13.9 l/100 km Cylinder diameter: 82.5 mm Stroke: 92.8 mm Supply system: Distributed injection Recommended fuel: AI-98

Gallardo Spyder

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder open roof

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder- This is an open version of the Lamborghini Gallardo supercar with a soft folding roof, officially presented in 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The main differences from the coupe version of the Lamborghini Gallardo is the increased power of the V10 engine from the standard 500 hp. up to 520 hp thanks to the introduction of an electronic bypass valve that directs exhaust gases at certain speeds bypassing the muffler section. This allowed the car to reach a higher top speed of 314 km/h (195 miles) instead of the 309 km/h that the Gallardo coupe developed. With the roof open, the car accelerates to a lower top speed of 307 km/h.
Acceleration 0-100 km / h is equal to 4.3 seconds, acceleration 0-200 km / h is equal to 14.5 seconds. Engine power of 520 hp achieved at 8000 rpm. The torque is 510 Hm at 4500 rpm.

Due to the presence of a mechanical fabric roof, work has been done to strengthen the sills and windshield pillars to securely reinforce the roof when closed. The mechanism for folding the roof is to automatically fold the material into the engine compartment of the car, and the control method is displayed on the dashboard of the car and is performed by two buttons. The process of folding the roof takes 20 seconds. Simultaneously with the folding process, the electric rear window is automatically extended, which can also be removed by pressing a button on the control panel.
Production of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder was announced in January 2006 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The first sales of the car began in March of the same year. The planned circulation was 800 copies.

The car will be on public display on March 16 in Turin, where an exhibition dedicated to this anniversary date will be held.

The special anniversary version of the Lamborghini Gallardo received a three-color body sticker in the traditional colors of the Italian flag that runs through the entire body of the car, as well as carbon fiber rear-view mirrors. The automaker does not disclose any information about the modernization of the technical part of the car, its characteristics and prices for this Gallardo model.

The standard Gallardo, in turn, is equipped with a V10 engine with a volume of 5.2 liters and 560 “horses” inside, which accelerates this work of art from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder

Engine power of 550 horsepower V10 volume of 5.2 liters. The car also received reconfigured shock absorbers, a limited slip rear differential on the rear axle and improved aerodynamics.

From zero to one hundred kilometers per hour, the novelty is able to accelerate in 4.2 seconds, which is two tenths of a second slower than the all-wheel drive spider. The maximum speed of the car is 319 kilometers per hour.

The Lamborghini Gallardo was launched by Lamborghini in 2003. In terms of power and size, this model is inferior to the Lamborghini Murcielago, which, however, does not prevent it from being the most popular among all other cars of this manufacturer. Production of more than 14,000 cars in 11 years is a record for Lamborghini. Having a breed of powerful bulls in its name, the car of 2003 release was able to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 4.2 seconds. The unique design made it possible to significantly improve the rear view. The limit of the car was then at around 309 km / h.

Gallardo SE

Two years after the Lamborghini Gallardo was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, a special edition of the Gallardo SE appears. The maximum speed increased by 5 km, the power increased to 520 hp. With. In this case, the car had sports tires as standard, conventional tires could be selected as an option. Also, customers were pleased with changes such as air conditioning and heated seats, as well as a rear-view camera and a navigation system.

As for the color scheme, it can be described as very cheerful: only white and gray colors stood out a little from juicy orange, yellow, green. The price of the car was about 141,000 euros.

Gallardo Spyder

In the same 2005, the Gallardo Spyder was released. the main difference between the car and the previously presented was that it was an open version of the Gallardo. The power is the same as that of the Gallardo SE, and the maximum speed figures are also the same.

Other versions of Lamborghini Gallardo

Perhaps two more variations of Gallardo deserve special attention - Gallardo Nera and Gallardo Superleggera. Both versions were released in relatively small numbers. In the second case, unfortunately, the release was stopped, although the version is quite interesting - due to the release of light alloy wheels and some other successful manipulations, the car was "lightened" by as much as 100 kg.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 reaches 100 km/h with acceleration in 3.7 seconds, while the top speed of the car is 325 km/h. The 560 hp car also has an open version, the LP560-4 Spyder.

2013 modification

In 2013, Gallardo was updated: the bumper has a different shape of air ducts, new rims appeared. The car engine remained with the same technical characteristics - 5.2 liters, 560 liters. With. It is worth noting that before the restyling of the car in 2013, versions such as Bicolore, Tricolore, Super Trofeo and their various variations were also produced in small editions.

Despite the fact that the Lamborghini Gallardo, first of all, personifies the triumph of luxury and boldness of style, this did not prevent him from becoming an honorary car of the Italian state police - in 2008, cars of a special series were even donated to the Viminal Palace. At the same time, Gallardo equipment allows it to be successfully used not only for chasing criminals, but also as a safe vehicle for urgent transportation of various medical supplies.

The mid-engined all-wheel drive coupe Lamborghini Gallardo debuted in 2003. The car was equipped with a V10 5.0 engine with a capacity of 500 forces, paired with six-speed gearboxes - manual or robotic. Such power supply allowed the car to accelerate to “hundreds” in 4.2 seconds. Soon the engine output was increased by 20 hp. With.

In 2006, an open version of the Spyder with a folding fabric roof appeared, and in 2007, a coupe performed by the Superleggera. It had a body lightened by 100 kg due to the use of carbon fiber and a motor boosted to 530 “horses”, thanks to which the acceleration time to 100 km / h was reduced to 3.8 seconds

The updated and modernized Gaillardo was introduced in 2008. In addition to a slightly modified design, the supercar received a new direct-injection engine - a ten-cylinder, 5.2-liter capacity and 560 hp. With. Gearboxes were finalized, and in addition, the car had an electronic system for an effective start (launch control).

In 2010, the lightweight Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera coupe and the LP 570-4 Perfomante roadster with engines developing 570 “horses” went on sale. It took 3.4 seconds for such a car to accelerate to “hundreds”, and the maximum speed was 325 km / h. In the same year, the rear-wheel drive version of the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni was added to the lineup, it was not as powerful (550 hp), but it cost a little cheaper than all-wheel drive cars.

Another small restyling of the model was carried out in 2012, but this time the changes affected only the appearance of the supercar. In this form, Gallardo was produced until the end of 2013, becoming the most massive Lamborghini in history - a total of 14,022 cars were made. The successor to the model was a supercar.

The price of Lamborghini Gallardo in the Russian market was about 10-11 million rubles.

The Gallardo supercar appeared back in 2003, having gone through several upgrades since then, and was also offered in a host of different versions, made for a specific customer (such as the Gallardo Polizia) or in a special color version (Bicolore, Tricolore).

The car is distinguished by futuristic design and unbridled character (according to tradition, Lamborghini are named after the legendary bulls, but Gallardo - in honor of a whole breed of ferocious fighting bulls, once bred by the Gallardo brothers). In short, a typical Gallardo looks like this: the engine is from 550 to 570 hp, massive 8-piston brake calipers, torque is distributed between the axles in a ratio of 30/70, and the basis is a spatial aluminum frame with lightweight body parts (made of the same aluminum or carbon).

First shown at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Gallardo LP560-4 features additional weight reduction measures, new headlights, redesigned bumpers and other changes. This sports car is presented in two versions: a roadster and a spider (with a soft top). Standard equipment includes: 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic extending and folding rear spoiler, bi-xenon headlights, dual-zone climate control, power seat adjustment, leather upholstery, 4-speaker audio system and CD changer. A wide range of options include a front spoiler, exclusive alloy wheels, suede upholstery and carbon trim, a navigation system and a Bluetooth interface. Among other things, Lamborghini Gallardo offers a wide variety of color combinations, both exterior and interior.

Gallardo has a rear engine layout. The engine is located with the flywheel back, the box ("mechanics" or "robot", both 6-speed) is located in the rear overhang. Until 2007, a five-liter V-shaped engine with 10 cylinders was used. In different versions (exclusively atmospheric), he developed from 500 to 530 forces. In the latter case, we are talking about the Superleggera modification, in which, thanks to the use of carbon fiber (even the seats are made of it) and the lightening of components and assemblies, the curb weight was reduced by 100 kg. With the advent of the updated version of the LP560-4, the engine volume was increased by 200 "cubes", the power reached 550-570 hp. With. The lightest modification of the Superleggera has become even more use of aluminum and carbon fiber parts, as a result, the maximum speed has increased to 325 km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h will now take 3.4 seconds.

Gallardo is based on an aluminum space frame and independent double wishbone suspensions made of the same metal. Despite the fact that one of the features of Lamborghini is four-wheel drive (the front wheels get torque due to the viscous coupling), the LP550-2 versions were rear-wheel drive. The Gallardo has a short rear overhang and decent front overhang, but options include an adjustable suspension that allows more clearance under the front bumper, resulting in less risk of hitting the pavement when negotiating obstacles.

Of the security systems in the Gallardo equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, as well as side airbags and curtain airbags. The front passenger airbag has a deactivation function. From other systems and equipment: stiffeners, belts with tensioners, a variety of electronic systems: anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control systems, tire pressure monitoring, dynamic cornering lighting.

It can be noted that in technical terms, the Gallardo has much in common with another serial Audi R8 supercar, and both cars mutually enrich each other in various nuances, but even with existing family ties, the Lamborghini name itself speaks for itself. The fact that the Gallardo is more driver-friendly than ever has only added to the model's popularity. The release of this car, which can be considered the most massive Lamborghini model, was discontinued in November 2013, with a total circulation of 14,022 copies.
