3rd place - Toyo Proxes CF1.

Price - 4,000 rubles. This model closes the top three in the ranking of the top 10 most best summer tires 2013, replacing the tires TOYO R610. Tires with an asymmetric tread pattern outperform the previous model in terms of comfort, noise and handling precision.

2nd place - Nokian Hakka Green.

Price - 3.5 thousand rubles. The word "Green", included in the name of the tires, testifies to their high safety in terms of ecology. Moreover, experts note the absence of the effect of "melting", low rolling resistance and a high level of grip.

The best summer tires of 2013 are the Michelin Energy XM2.

Price - 5,000 rubles. The manufacturer describes this model as ideal for countries with poor roads. Tires are characterized by low rolling resistance and increased durability. The unique sidewall design allows them to overcome road pits and curbs without loss. The Michelin Energy XM2 lasts 20 percent longer than the previous model.

The independent Finnish organization Test World has evaluated thirteen models of summer tires in the popular size 205/55 R16 V. This organization is owned by Finnish individual entrepreneurs. Test World experts regularly conduct comparative studies and tests for specialized publications, car and tire manufacturers.

This year, experts from an independent organization tested summer tires according to several fundamental criteria. These are, in particular, the braking distance on wet and dry road surfaces, handling on wet roads, hydroplaning resistance and driving performance of the tire on wet and dry surfaces. In addition, TestWorld experts evaluated parameters such as noise level, tire comfort and rolling resistance. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the results of the tests.

13. Nankang ECO-2 GreenSport

In last place were tires from Taiwan, which received a final score of 6.7 points. In almost all disciplines, these summer tires showed very poor results. This is especially true of braking and handling on wet surfaces, which is one of the main parameters of the reliability of summer tires. The Nankang ECO-2 Green Sport tires had the longest wet braking distance and the worst hydroplaning resistance of all models tested.

These tires quickly lose grip in corners, both dry and wet. The main advantages of Nankang tires are only cheap price and low noise level. However, in terms of safety and reliability on the road, the Nankang ECO-2 Green Sport tires noticeably lose out to their competitors.

12. ToyoProxes CF2

Among the test world test failures are the Japanese tires Toyo Proxes CF2 with a total score of 7.3 points. Obviously, these summer tires, despite the inclusion of a large amount of silica in the rubber compound and wide grooves on the tread to reduce hydroplaning, do not tolerate roads covered with a water film. They showed the worst handling on wet pavement, which indicates their poor grip and rapid loss of contact with the road. On dry roads, the Toyo Proxes CF2 tires are more confident and relaxed. Of the advantages of the tire - a fairly low rolling resistance and a high level of ride comfort.

11. Bridgestone Turanza T001

In eleventh place, with 7.9 points, was the novelty of 2012 - summer tires Bridgestone Turanza T001. They feature an asymmetric tread pattern with enlarged grooves and a high silica content in the rubber compound. According to experts from the Test World organization, these tires, despite the big name of the manufacturer, provide insufficient controllability and slow response to steering turns, both on dry and wet road surfaces.

Bridgestone tires were among the worst in terms of ride quality, along with the Taiwanese Nankang ECO-2 GreenSport tires mentioned above. In addition, they cannot boast of a high level of comfort. At the same time, the Bridgestone Turanza T001 showed good hydroplaning resistance.

10. Barum Bravuris 2

Tires from Germany Barum Bravuris 2 received a final score of 8.1 points. It is noteworthy that these summer tires performed well in wet road tests, where they boast excellent handling and balanced behavior. But on a dry road, the braking distance of the Barum Bravuris 2 turned out to be the longest among all the models participating in the tests. They behave somewhat sluggishly when turning the steering wheel during fast maneuvers and, in addition, inform the driver about all road irregularities while driving, which ensures a low level of comfort.

9. Michelin Primacy 3

Seventh place in the Test World tests was taken by several tire models at once, scoring the same number of points - 8.2. These are, in particular, tires Michelin Primacy 3 with new, narrower sipes on the tread to increase maneuverability and ensure their minimum deformation in contact with the roadway. Summer tires from the French manufacturer showed confident and predictable behavior on dry pavement.

At the same time, the Michelin Primacy 3 experienced some difficulties in wet testing. These tires are characterized by low hydroplaning resistance, which ensures extremely quick loss of grip during any maneuvers in rainy weather. They showed poor wet handling, average comfort and average rolling resistance.

8. Hankook Ventus Prime2 K115

The Hankook Ventus Prime2 K115 Summer Tire features an asymmetric tread pattern and a predatory design that is geared towards better handling and hydroplaning resistance on wet roads. They also feature a hybrid tread compound designed to reduce fuel consumption. In tests by an independent Finnish organization, these summer tires were the worst in terms of rolling resistance. Despite the high resistance to hydroplaning, on wet roads the Hankook Ventus Prime2 K115 tires do not behave too predictably due to insufficient handling. They often lose contact with the wet road surface when braking in corners.

7Apollo Alnac 4G

Tires from an Indian manufacturer are gradually conquering the European market. The Apollo Alnac 4G features an asymmetric tread design with wide circumferential grooves to effectively wick water away from the contact patch. These tires also use a high silica compound optimized for better grip on wet roads.

Tests have shown that the ApolloAlnac 4G tires behave quite confidently not only on wet, but also on dry road surfaces. They demonstrated a short braking distance on both types of road surface, which indicates an overall good level of grip between the tire tread and the road surface. At the same time, these tires are characterized by high comfort. Among the shortcomings of the ApolloAlnac 4G, only a very high rolling resistance and insufficiently fast response to steering turns were noted.

6Vredestein Sportrac 5

In fifth place are two summer tires - Vredestein Sportrac 5 and Pirelli Cinturato P7, which received a final score of 8.6 points from TestWorld experts. The Vredestein Sportrac 5 tires are notable for having an asymmetric tread pattern that combines rain and conventional tire patterns. This rubber showed in tests the best wet handling of all thirteen models due to excellent lateral grip.

But the wet braking performance of the Vredestein tires is not as impressive, however, their relatively poor resistance to hydroplaning has become noticeable. In tests on dry roads, the behavior of the VredesteinSportrac 5 tire did not raise any complaints - they confidently hold the road even in sharp corners.

5. Pirelli Cinturato P7

The Italian Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires are distinguished by a new tread pattern with four longitudinal grooves to remove water and an original structure using modern polymers and nanoparticles. They demonstrated high braking performance, both on dry and wet roads. Test World experts also noted the excellent hydroplaning resistance of this tire, although in some situations on wet road surfaces, Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires can unexpectedly lose grip too easily. However, in general, the summer tires of the Italian manufacturer guarantee an optimal level of safety. The lowering of the overall score was largely influenced by the rather high rolling resistance.

4. Dunlop Sport Blu Response

Introduced just in time for the upcoming summer season, the Dunlop Sport Blu Response tires finished fourth in the Tes tWorld tests, only slightly behind their competitors. The manufacturer himself refers these tires to the category of "eco-touring". Inspired by Dunlop's experience in motorsports, these tires incorporate new polymers designed specifically for racing to increase grip on wet surfaces. A new groove configuration has also been designed to minimize the amount of water collecting in front of the tire when riding on wet roads.

Tests have shown the Dunlop Sport Blu Response tire to have excellent braking performance on wet and dry surfaces. Moreover, on a dry road, they generally demonstrated the shortest braking distance. These tires have good hydroplaning resistance, low rolling resistance and acceptable noise levels. The main disadvantage of the Dunlop summer tire was the lack of grip when performing sharp maneuvers and cornering on dry pavement.

An honorable second place was shared by Nokian Hakka Blue and Continental Conti Premium Contact 5 tires (score 9.0). The tires of the Finnish manufacturer, designed specifically for the capricious and unpredictable conditions of the Russian summer, did an excellent job with the tests. They use special lamellas that provide effective moisture removal from the point of contact of the tire with the road into the tread grooves. For greater resistance to aquaplaning, in addition to the main ones, high-speed grooves on the tread were also added. As a result, the Nokian Hakka Blue tires in TestWorld's wet tests demonstrated the best driving performance, along with Goodyear tires.

In terms of dry road performance, they were generally unrivaled among all the tested models. They have good handling and hydroplaning resistance. Experts also noted the low noise level. These predictable and balanced tires, however, showed a fairly long braking distance on dry pavement.

The main features of the Continental Conti Premium Contact 5 tire are massive tread grooves in its shoulder area and special “aqua lamellas”, thanks to which water is more efficiently removed from the contact patch even when the car is driving at high speed. In TestWorld tests, they became the best in several disciplines at once.

In particular, Continental's summer tires demonstrated the shortest wet braking distance and the best hydroplaning resistance of any model tested. Plus, they are distinguished by good handling on all types of road surfaces, have a quiet and comfortable ride. The only negative is, again, a relatively long braking distance on a dry road surface.

The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance summer tires, which received the highest final score of 9.1 points, were recognized as the winner of the tests by the reputable experts of Test World. A key feature of these tires is the use of Wear Control technology, which involves the use of several rubber compounds in the tire structure at once. The inner tread of Goodyear tires is made from a rubber compound with high rigidity and low heat generation. As a result, the inner tread layer provides a higher resistance of the tire to dynamic deformation during vehicle movement, which, in turn, guarantees a more even distribution of external pressure across the contact patch. The top layer of the tread consists of a more elastic rubber compound with a higher content of silica, which allows the tire to more tightly fit the slightest bumps in the roadway, guaranteeing excellent grip on the surface.

Tests have shown that Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tires have the best wet performance and the lowest rolling resistance. Demonstrating a decent performance in all disciplines, they proved to be very balanced and reliable summer tires, guaranteeing predictable behavior of the car, both on dry and wet road surfaces. The only disadvantage of Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tires, according to the experts of the Finnish organization, is not the highest resistance to hydroplaning.

Earlier, we presented our readers with our own review of the best winter tires, which you can read.

Photo mosautoshina.ru, cdirect.fr, etyres.co.uk

Despite the frosts, the time is approaching to prepare the car for the warm season. In a few months, you will have to change winter tires to summer tires. Leading experts have summer tire test for 2013 by publishing their own recommendations.

This article is outdated. Read 2014. Rubber test and summary table of results.

Analyzing the cost of tires, we settled on the most popular tire size among Russian owners of foreign cars - 205 / 55R16. The price of rubber of this size is given for each participant in the rating.

The cost of one tire is about 5 thousand rubles. Tires are distinguished by an asymmetric tread pattern. The composition of the rubber compound includes silicon, which optimizes the behavior of the car on wet roads and reduces rolling resistance. Compared to the Bravuris 1, the new summer tires reduce braking distances on wet pavement by 5% and improve handling by 4%.

The cost is about 3 thousand rubles. The original V-shaped tread pattern provides maximum grip and control in all conditions. Federal is one of the best brands in the low-cost segment.

Drive 2. The cost is about 4 thousand rubles. Orange oil has been added to the rubber compound to improve grip and environmental performance. Tires are characterized by low noise level and guarantee excellent handling of the car.

7. Pirelli Cinturato P1

The cost is about 4 thousand rubles. According to the manufacturer, in comparison with tires of previous modifications, the Cinturato P1 model, included in the 2013 rating, can reduce fuel consumption by 4%, and noise levels by as much as 30%.

6. Michelin Energy Saver

The cost is a little less than 4 thousand rubles. According to tests by T?V S?D Automotive, these tires will last an average of 10,000 km more than most of their classmates. Energy Saver tires have one of the best rolling resistance ratings.

5. Toyo Proxes C1S

The cost is about 4 thousand rubles. In comparison with the previous modification, the new model has reduced rolling resistance. The new tread pattern and anti-noise wall make driving as safe and comfortable as possible.

4. Kumho Solus KH17

The cost is about 3500 rubles. These comfort class tires offer good grip, low noise levels and excellent handling. Experts of the publication "Behind the wheel" note the fuel efficiency of this tire model.

3. Toyo Proxes CF1

The cost is about 4 thousand rubles. The model that closes the top three among tires included in summer tire rating 2013, replaced the popular TOYO R610 tires. Rubber with an asymmetric tread pattern outperforms its predecessor in terms of noise, comfort and handling.

2 Nokian Hakka Green

The cost is a little over 3500 rubles. The prefix "Green" in the name of tires is evidence of their high environmental safety. In addition, experts note a high level of grip, no “melting” effect even on the hottest asphalt, as well as low rolling resistance.

1. Michelin Energy XM2

costs about 5 thousand rubles for a tire. The manufacturer characterizes this model as ideal for developing countries with poor roads. Tires are characterized by increased durability and low rolling resistance. The unique sidewall design allows tires to overcome curbs and road pits without loss. The life of the XM2 model is 20% longer than that of the Michelin Energy Saver model.

Despite the fact that the Renault Duster tire chosen for the test does not have the dimensions of a large SUV, it needs specific tires. A team of experts from Za Rulem magazine, led by Sergey Mishin, tested 12 sets of popular tires on the market.

Size 215/65 R16 is one of the most popular in the compact SUV segment. Tires in this size are suitable for both Chevy Niva and Volkswagen Tiguan. Since such cars spend most of their time on asphalt roads, the results of the sets on the primer were not taken into account.

The test leader with 963 points was the Nokian Hakka SUV tire, which showed the best rearrangement speed on dry roads. The average cost of a tire provides it with a quite democratic price / quality ratio of 5.3.

A set of Michelin Latitude Diamaris tires (926 points), which is on the second line of the final rating, is significantly more expensive. Za Rulem specialists defined this kit as well balanced and free from flaws. The only exception was its cost, which turned out to be the highest among the tested kits. Price / quality ratio - 6.3.

Pirelli Scorpion Verde occupied the third place according to the results of the points calculation, falling short of the second place by only 1 point. Due to the acceptable cost, Pirelli tires received the best price / quality ratio of 5.0.

Slightly behind the top three are Continental tires (898 points). The tire stands on the line separating excellent tires from just good ones. The cost of the kit is quite high, and therefore the price / quality ratio, like that of Michelin, is 6.3.

In fifth place with 886 points is the model of the Korean manufacturer Hankook - the Dynapro HP tire. With a good price/performance ratio of 6.0, the Korean tire was 1 point ahead of its Japanese competitor from Bridgestone. By the way, tires Dueler H / P Sport (885 points), other things being equal, turned out to be significantly more expensive, for which they received a price / quality ratio of 5.9.

Tires of domestic manufacturer Viatti Bosco A/T (868 points) took the seventh place in the test. The low cost of tires determined the price / quality ratio equal to 4.3, which, against the background of compatriots who scored no more than 4 in this discipline, is a very successful acquisition.

Eighth place went to the Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV model with a very high cost, not justified even by the highest speed index. As a result, the price / quality ratio is only 5.9. The Yokohama Geolandar SUV follows with the same price-performance ratio, with a score of 842.

Rounding out the top ten are Amtel Cruise 4X4 tires with a low speed index of 190 km/h. According to the results of the test, this model scored 841 points. According to the price / quality ratio of 3.6, they are called the best buy.

Silently behind the Cordiant All Terrain model with a "toothy" tread. Having scored 834 points in the end, the tires showed a very decent result among asphalt counterparts.

Surprisingly, the Dunlop Grandtrek PT2 tires came in last place. And the point here is not the lowest speed index (180 km / h), but rather the rough structure of Russian asphalt, which is clearly too tough for a Japanese woman.

Tires for compact SUVs are forced to work in more difficult road conditions than their passenger counterparts. The features of such tires are not only their specific dimensions and load capacity indices, but also a reinforced carcass structure. Quite often, such tires are marked with the abbreviation SUV.

Final positions:

12th Dunlop Grandtrek PT2 (804 points)

Country of manufacture Japan

Tread depth 7.1-7.4mm
Shore hardness 61 units.
Tire weight 10.7 kg
Price/quality 5.5

Lowest fuel consumption, satisfactory ride.
– Extremely weak braking on dry and wet surfaces, problematic handling during extreme maneuvers on wet surfaces, difficult behavior at high speed and handling on dry roads during extreme maneuvers, high noise level.
