What can be useful when installing an ESP?

First of all, you need to purchase a set of various devices, including: controls and an actuator. It follows in advance, their quantity and price. Naturally, choosing better and more efficient lifts, their price will be much higher.

Differences in design also have a big impact on the installation process, since many vehicles are already equipped with landing hardware to install the appropriate devices, while others will need to rework the inside of the door. However, reworking the fasteners is not difficult.

How to install power windows on a VAZ 2110?

After selecting the appropriate devices, you can proceed with the installation of power windows on the doors. To do this, the car is installed on a flat and open surface, where it is possible to open the door wide, and the negative terminal is removed from the battery.

  • Disassemble the door panel and remove the old raise and lower mechanism. To do this, the glass is slightly lowered, and the clip mount is unscrewed from the mechanism of the old power window with a wrench.

Attention! When disassembling the power window, be especially careful, because the glass that is not fixed can fall into the bottom of the door panel and break. In this case, the case may not be limited to installing only power windows.

  • Next, the nut located at the top is turned out. It is designed for top mounting of a special guide. The same is done with the rest of the guides and after that, the old mechanism is unscrewed along with the cable.
  • A set of wires that are included in the purchased kit, you need to assemble a special harness that is connected to. Two wires are led out under the trim to the inside of the doors. At the exit point of the wire from under the wing and at the entrance to the door, it is necessary to leave a certain margin, which, when the door is opened, will not allow the wires to break. However, such a stock should not allow the wire to sag, otherwise it will come out and may be damaged at the place where the door gap is closed.

  • If the power window control buttons are planned to be made on the door handle, then the third wire is also output to the door panel. In other cases, it is pulled behind the panel to the torpedo or brought under the floor to a switch located between the seats.
  • Now you need to cut out some of the protective film so that it does not interfere with the operation of the electric motor. Through a special hole at the top of the panel, insert the electric drive with all hinged mechanisms and fix it in place of the previous mechanical window regulator. If the power window is mounted on a rear door, the drive can be inserted through the bottom hole in the corner.
  • Assemble the rest of the parts and connect the wires from the bundle in accordance with the connection diagram. Decide on the installation location of the switch button and mount it in the right place. Special wires are also inserted into the buttons in accordance with the connection diagram.
  • After that, a negative terminal is put on the battery, and the operation of the power window is checked by lowering and raising the glass to the stop. After that, the glass clip is tightened and the necessary adjustment of the mechanism is carried out.
  • Now assemble all the door skins and securely hide the wires where they protrude from it.

This completes the installation of power windows on the VAZ. As you can see, this is not a complicated procedure at all and requires the driver to have elementary ideas about the principle of operation of the lowering device, as well as minimal knowledge in reading electrical circuits. Solving the issue yourself will help you save a lot of money on the services of car service masters and give you a little experience in operating and maintaining a car.

Installation instructions

Before installing a new set, you need to deal with the dismantling of the old power window. Having understood how the whole structure works, it will be easier for you to install automation and properly configure it if necessary.

Tools

For work you need to prepare:

  • a set of keys;
  • flat and Phillips screwdrivers;
  • pliers;
  • adhesive tape to fix the glass in the desired position.

How to put (step by step with photo)

You need to remove the factory mechanism in the following order:

  1. We lower the glass down.
  2. To remove the side handle, you need to disconnect the lock washer. With a flat screwdriver, push the edges of the washer and disengage it. We carry out this work carefully, without the use of brute physical force.

  3. To gain access to the inside of the door, remove the decorative panel.
  4. To loosen the tension roller mounting bolt, use a Phillips screwdriver.

  5. We shift the tension roller, loosen the cable and remove it.
  6. Unscrew the 3 nuts securing the lifting mechanism with a wrench.

  7. We pull the entire mechanism through the opening.

Tip: Attach wire to the ends of the cable - this will reduce the time to reassemble the entire mechanism.

Connection diagram and installation

Despite the fact that there are several kits from different manufacturers on sale, not all of them are suitable for the VAZ 2107. This is due to the design of the power windows and the shape of the door, we recommend purchasing a kit from SPAL. It fits well and installs quickly. Before installation, carefully read the instructions and understand the wiring diagram.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Raise the glass up and fix it in this position with adhesive tape.

    You can fix the glass in the upper position using ordinary adhesive tape.

  3. We choose a place to install the electric motor and mount it.

Hi all! I recently received my long-awaited FORWARD power windows (hereinafter referred to as ESP) .. I am posting a report as I installed it myself. I tried to photograph as detailed as possible.

I put it on a VAZ-2107 car. I reviewed all the videos on the Internet, re-read a bunch of reviews and realized that it was not so difficult. But along the way, small nuances appeared, which I will now talk about.

The first thing I started with the driver's door. I’m thinking about how the casing was removed and the standard window lifter is removed, it will not be interesting for anyone to read, so I’ll get to the point.

Started with drilling. I marked the points along the ruler and made holes. Here was the first problem: the car, although relatively old for the VAZ (2005 onwards), but the doors managed to rust a little. As a result, the steel became thinner and it was more difficult to drill, so the holes turned out to be such curves. But the ESP mechanism itself entered as it should and is now holding up perfectly.

At this stage, a problem also arose: the glass went down to the end, but at the very bottom it flew out from the guide, and it could no longer go up without the help of hands. No matter how I tried to regulate, nothing helped. Then I realized that the guide on the lower bolt did not hold, there was a backlash of 5 centimeters! I solved the problem by buying a new guide, apparently it has worn out over the long 10 years of use. On this installation work ended and the most difficult part began - WIRING.

At first, I decided to take the path of least resistance. "+" connected to the radio, took the ground from the door. Tried - didn't work. The fuse has blown. Replacing it tried again, it worked. For the first time, I left it like that, because I did it more than one day (for a couple of hours after work).

Then, as I made the second door (I will give a photo below), I noticed that the glass moves more slowly than on the driver's door and another fuse burned out. I decided to connect directly to the battery. I didn’t do it right away, because I didn’t want to drill a hole for the wiring and look for a place there and generally conduct it, but I had to. To my surprise, the VAZ-2107 has a hole under the fuse box and a rubber plug, through which I successfully passed the “+” wire.

"Seven" AvtoVAZ, thanks to good reliability, simplicity and low price, remains a fairly popular model among car owners. However, the equipment of the car is too modest by modern standards. Sometimes, as in the case of the lack of air conditioning, this can only be put up with. But you can add some convenient and useful options yourself. For example, you can install power windows on the VAZ 2107.

The design of the windows VAZ 2107

Manual windows are installed on the front and rear doors of the “classic” VAZ, the design of which has been almost unchanged since the prototype VAZ 2101 - FIAT 124. The assembly consists of the following parts:

The only design feature of the “seven” front power window that distinguishes it from the nodes of previous VAZ models is the presence of four rollers for cable tension. Its necessity is due to the increased width of the glass due to the absence of a window vent.

Advantages and disadvantages of the stock power window VAZ 2107

The advantages of factory windows, which are installed on the "seven", include:

  • low cost of the unit and parts for repair;
  • ease of repair;
  • simple working principle and sufficient reliability.

At the same time, stock power windows have their drawbacks:

  • relatively short service life;
  • rapid wear of parts when exposed to moisture or temperature extremes;
  • the appearance of squeaks during operation and scratches on the window due to wear and increased play of parts.

Modern power windows VAZ 2107, which can be purchased separately, are highly reliable and allow you to control the door windows at the touch of a button. They can also work in conjunction with an alarm system, automatically closing windows when it is turned on. Therefore, many VAZ 2107 owners prefer them to stock windows.

In case of breakage of power windows, they are usually replaced. The design of the window regulator does not provide for the possibility of repair. The only element that is sometimes changed in the power window is the cable. But, given that all parts of the VAZ window lifter wear out over time, it is easier to replace rather than repair.

It is possible, taking advantage of the opportunity, to replace the standard windows with electric ones.

Note: in case of visible damage to the mechanism, be sure to replace it with a new one. Sometimes it is enough to limit ourselves to lubricating the old mechanism in order to restore its performance.

To replace the standard window regulator, you need to perform the following operations:

  • lubricate the power window cable with grease;
  • insert the window regulator into place and tighten the three nuts securing the mechanism to the door;
  • install the cable on the rollers;
  • unscrew the wire fixing the cable (if it was fixed at the disassembly stage);
  • adjust the tension of the cable and tighten the nut of the lower roller;
  • check the operation of the power window by putting the handle on the sprocket (without lock washer);
  • remove the handle;
  • put the door trim;
  • tighten the door handle bolts;
  • install the power window handle, fixing it with a lock washer.

The choice of power windows on the VAZ 2107

Power windows on the VAZ 2107 are produced by several manufacturers. When choosing a model, it should be borne in mind that not all power windows suitable for earlier models (for example, VAZ 2106) will fit the “seven”. This is due to the fact that there is no window in the front windows of the VAZ 2107, the glass occupies the entire width of the door, so there is little space for attaching an electric lift.

You should not buy cheap models of power windows from unknown manufacturers - with a high probability they will soon require replacement.

The standard delivery package for power windows (ESP) includes:

  • two ESP;
  • two power window control buttons;
  • wiring harness with installed connectors for connecting buttons and ESP motors;
  • washers, bolts and washers for fastening mechanisms;
  • decorative plugs to cover holes in the door trim.

The procedure for installing power windows on the VAZ 2107 is as follows:

  • study the instructions for the ESP;
  • disconnect the car battery to avoid the possibility of a short circuit;
  • lift the glass up and secure with tape;
  • remove the stock window;
  • install and fix the electric motor;
  • lay the cable in a regular place;
  • prepare the installation sites for control buttons (on door handles or “beard”);
  • lay wires from electric motors to control buttons;
  • connect buttons and electric motors according to the instructions;
  • set the buttons in place;
  • connect the battery and check the operation of the ESP;
  • assemble the door trim.

  • It is better to lay wire harnesses through the passenger compartment, having previously equipped them with additional insulation from PVC tubes. This will provide them with reliable protection from damage during operation.
  • Self-tapping screws that come with most ESPs are best replaced with screw-nut-grover kits. This mount is more reliable and does not loosen over time.
  • Be sure to connect the power supply of the ESP through a fuse, this will avoid the ignition of the wiring in case of a short circuit or overload of the electric motor.

Our auto industry rarely installs power windows on cars such as, for example, the VAZ 2109. However, during the serial production of the "nine", power windows were not used at all on domestic cars. At present, the opposite is true, the mechanical handle goes down in history, because now it has even become possible to install electric lifts with your own hands. For this, many thanks to the domestic industry, which produces electric lifts for cars that were not originally equipped with them. Further conversation will go just about the installation of windows of this type.

Electric lifts are of several types:

  • cable - the weakest, slowest and cheapest. If the motor burns out on them, then you can easily replace it;
  • rack and pinion - rather weak and requiring regular lubrication during operation;
  • hinged-lever - fast, quiet and powerful enough (for example, frozen glass is not a problem for them).

Electric lifts and VAZ 2106

Installing electric lifts on the VAZ 2106 is not only easy, but even much easier than on other models, such as 2105 or 2107. This procedure is simplified by the presence of the so-called wind switch in the "six". In modern stores there are a huge number of options for power windows, and the average price ranges from $ 100. When choosing, the main attention should be paid to the manufacturer, for example, European power windows are much more reliable than Chinese ones, you can also purchase a domestic system, but it can often be understaffed.

The most difficult task is to drag the tubes with pre-laid wires from under the dashboard into the door, which becomes more difficult if the car is equipped with a central lock or heated windows.

The complete set of this type of power windows usually provides for the presence of:

  • electrical wiring;
  • buttons;
  • plugs;
  • required mounting hardware;
  • rubber cuffs needed to pull the wiring from the rack into the door.

Katran and Berkut are distinguished by a slightly different device and a more complex installation process, while in terms of quality they are not inferior to those described above.

Before proceeding with the installation, make sure that the car's on-board network is disconnected from the battery power. You can also separately turn off the circuits, one of which powers the cigarette lighter, and the second illuminates the dashboard, since this is where you will need to connect the wiring that feeds the power windows.

So let's get started:

  1. You need to remove the upholstery from the doors. It is very easy to remove, just do not forget to purchase mounting caps.
  2. Now we turn to the dismantling of the mechanism, due to which the regular manual lift works. In this case, the glass should be fixed (stationery tape is useful for this) in a position that provides optimal access to the place of its fastening with a lifting mechanism. Then we proceed to unscrewing the fixing bolts responsible for connecting the glass and the standard power window.
  3. We remove the trapezoid - the guide responsible for the standard window lifter mechanism. To do this, unscrew 1 nut at the bottom, 2 in the middle and 1 at the top. We also unscrew the 3 nuts that fix the power window with the rotation handle, now it can be removed, and when the device is disconnected, you can proceed to install a new electric one.
  4. To mount the new device, only standard fasteners are required, nothing needs to be drilled. The power window mechanism must be installed in the inner cavity of the door through the largest technological hole. Only the "assembled" view (the position of the glass "open") will allow you to insert the structure inside. To fasten the mechanism from the inside, 2 studs are used, inserted into the corresponding holes, previously intended to fix the middle part of the guide of a standard power window. The next stage is the alignment of the fasteners on the power window lever system with the fasteners located on the glass, followed by their fixation with bolts. By the way, if there are rubbing parts in the design, they must be thoroughly lubricated.

All work related to the mechanical part is completed, then you need to move on to the electrical. First you need to figure out where the wiring will be, the main purpose of which is to connect the electric motor that drives the lift and the activator button. In this case, the following point can cause the greatest difficulty: the wiring must go from the door to the rack, and then go from the rack under the instrument panel.

The laid wire must not come into contact with the moving parts of the door and the power window mechanism itself.

After all the work is done, you can return the skin to its place and enjoy the result.
