Mitsubishi asx cons. Weaknesses and frequent breakdowns of Mitsubishi ASX with mileage

All the "sores" of the used Mitsubishi ASX

“Do you have the same one, but with mother-of-pearl buttons?” The well-known phrase is perfect for our today's material: in the mid-2000s, many customers of Mitsubishi dealerships, looking at the Outlander, dreamed of the same, but a little more modest in size and cheaper. Get - Mitsubishi ASX.

When choosing between two cars that are similar in price, men have always preferred the one that is more powerful and bigger. But women ... As it turned out, many of them, on the contrary, want to ride compact models, and the number of “horses” in this case fades into the background. The first to prove this was the Nissan Quashqai, which became in short supply immediately after its debut. Not surprisingly, such success prompted other automakers to rush after the sassy ladies' favorite. But developing a new platform, bringing it to perfection is a long and expensive process. Mitsubishi took a different path: they shortened the existing Outlander XL, tweaked the design a little and rolled out a model called ASX to the people. It turned out quickly and cheaply.

For every taste

In the basic version, the car was equipped with a 1.6-liter engine and a manual transmission. Drive in order to save - of course, only the front. Such unpretentious ASXs were in good demand among those who, in principle, considered compact cars as a candidate. Girls, in our country, who traditionally do not like to toggle the gearshift lever, increasingly settled on a 1.8-liter modification with a CVT. Finally, many still single potential buyers of mid-size crossovers were not averse to saving one and a half to two hundred thousand rubles and driving a “dried Outlander” with a 2.0-liter engine, CVT and all-wheel drive. This is how skillfully the novelty has gained an audience among various categories of people.

However, it soon became clear that length and design weren't the only differences between the ASX and the Outlander. The “younger brother” lost to the “older” in almost all disciplines: in dynamics, handling, brake pedal adequacy ... Perhaps the only thing he turned out to be better in was smoothness. Unlike the hard “Out”, ASX is much more careful with passengers. True, as long as there are few of them in the cabin. When fully loaded, even small bumps are fraught with breakdowns of the rear suspension. However, most of its owners drive alone, so they are not aware of it.

In terms of cross-country ability, the ASX is far from ideal. Of course, shortened overhangs and a clearance of 195 mm help him gallop briskly through gullies, but as soon as he stops or seriously loses speed, the crossover quickly turns into “real estate”. And pulling him out of captivity is not so easy: the eye hanging under the front bumper, as a rule, turns out to be in the dirt itself. Long attempts to cope with off-road on your own will most likely lead to overheating of the clutch. Nothing terrible will happen - the car itself will "ask for mercy" by turning on the corresponding indicator. By the way, the variator can also overheat - including when driving too actively in manual mode, even on asphalt.

Correct aggregate

ASX borrowed from Outlander not only the platform (strictly speaking, not even from Outlander, but from LancerX) - the aggregate base, the suspension is almost the same. This explains the complete absence of "childhood diseases" inherent in any new model. All three engines are by no means new - borrowed from other Mitsubishi models. There are no problems with them, you don’t even need to worry about replacing the timing belt - all motors are chain driven.

Gearboxes can also hardly be called problematic: mechanical seals sometimes leak, and at high mileage, bearings begin to buzz, but this is not widespread. The variator does not require intervention even on the first copies of the model, provided that the owner of the car was careful. If you too often see a message about overheating of the variator, then you are “lucky” to buy an already thoroughly “tortured” car.

The picture with used Mitsubishi ASX is typical for any non-new crossover: if the previous owner operated the car carefully, there will most likely not be any major problems. For those specimens that actively traveled off-road, the front and rear suspensions may require repair earlier than usual, and the variator often overheats and asks for a “temporary rest” when driving fast in manual mode. For five years of working with a compact SUV, I don’t remember a case that could be attributed to the typical “sores” of a car. The Outlander's proven chassis and power base have endowed the ASX with exemplary reliability.

Owner's opinion

Dmitry Popov, Mitsubishi ASX (1.6 L) 2010

Choosing a car was not easy for me. “Koreans” swept aside immediately, Nissan Qashqai, as they say, “didn’t catch” ... I liked the Mitsubishi Outlander XL, but it seemed too big. Then I just read about the release of ASX and immediately ordered a car. I'm sure I didn't miscalculate. ASX has never let me down: for three years of ownership at the service station, I applied only when carrying out MOT. And this is a big plus - the nearest dealer is 300 km from me. Of course, ASX also has its drawbacks: poor paintwork, insufficient sound insulation. But these are, unfortunately, the general trends of the modern automotive industry. From the extensive experience of communicating with ASX owners, I also know about claims to the suspension, EUR settings, warranty replacement of shock absorbers on runs of 40-50 thousand km. I learned a lot of useful information on the Mitsubishi ASX owners forum, where there are many solutions for self-improving cars at minimal cost.

Mitsubishi's long-liver is only the largest Pajero SUV, the fourth generation of which has been in continuous production for 11 years. But the most compact ASX first saw the world back in 2010.

During its production, the crossover has gone through several upgrades. The first two were made in the same corporate style of the Japanese company, and the related “faces” of Lancer X and Outlander XL are easily guessed in the crossover's appearance. But the last restyling was carried out at the end of 2016.

The most recent versions look the most expressive. Their makeup is done in accordance with the new design of Mitsubishi, which was the first to try on the Pajero Sport SUV and the L200 pickup.

beauty or practicality

However, the beauty of post-styling versions also has a downside: wide chrome trim on the front bumper is subject to sandblasting and pebble impacts.

In general, the corrosion resistance of the crossover does not cause any comments. Although one weak point where there may be pockets of rust during domestic operation, it was possible to identify. This is a seam on the trunk lid on the sides of the license plate lights (see photo "Weaknesses"). Domestic dealers fix this defect under warranty free of charge. They also increase immunity from red disease and front fenders made of plastic. I would like to praise this model for high security. According to the results of EuroNCAP crash tests in 2011, she won the maximum 5 stars.

The salon looks quite attractive - round wells of the instrument panel, a three-spoke steering wheel and silver decorative details that dilute the prevailing black color of the interior are pleasing to the eye.

Inside, five crew members will be able to accommodate, although three adult passengers of average build will be cramped in the back seat (see photo). The plastic trim, like most other Mitsubishi models, is solid, not squeaky. It is good that in all versions it is possible to adjust not only the angle of inclination of the "steering wheel", but also its departure. But the height adjustment range of the driver's seat is small, which is why the heads of tall passengers are close to the ceiling. At the same time, the visibility of ASX does not cause any remarks.

In the back seat, three adult passengers of average build will be cramped. The stock of legroom is quite enough and even a tall person can accommodate himself behind him, although his head will still be under the ceiling. The central floor tunnel is wide, but not large.

As the operating experience has shown, in general, the interior equipment of the crossover works flawlessly. Unless on old cars you can criticize the mechanisms of window regulators.

Diesels - Western European exotics

Under the hoods of ASX, operated in Ukraine, there are only gasoline units - there are three of them: 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 liters. Their timing drive is engaged by a durable metal chain that can go out before overhaul. Individual ignition coils also serve without problems. The fuel filter is recommended to be changed every 60 thousand km.

In Ukraine, only gasoline versions of the ASX are officially sold, but more economical diesel ones are offered only for Western European buyers and are classified as exotic in our country.

In general, the motorists of the company service have no serious complaints about their reliability, but some sores during operation were still able to be identified. So, in engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, plastic rollers of the attachment belt wear out by a run of 60-70 thousand km. And if they are not replaced, the belt can come off the old rollers. But in the 1.6-liter engine, metal rollers are installed that can go beyond 150 thousand km. In addition, 2.0-liter units with runs over 100 thousand km suffer from uneven idling due to clogged throttle.

There are also characteristic problems that occur in all engines. So, after a run of 100 thousand km, the front crankshaft oil seal may leak. If it is not replaced in time, the leaking oil will disable the rubber damper of the crankshaft pulley. The weak point of the exhaust system is the graphite ring of the exhaust pipe. Over time, it sags, which is accompanied by an increased rumble when the motor is running under load.

In addition, the 2.0-liter engine can be criticized for poor efficiency: in the urban cycle, even with mechanics, it consumes an average of 11-12 liters of gasoline per hundred.

Do not heat the variator!

ASX is equipped with two types of gearboxes: a 5-speed manual and an INVECS-III variator that simulates 6 fixed gears, which can be switched using a lever and paddle shifters. As domestic operating experience has shown, the mechanical unit serves, as a rule, without problems, but the variator can disturb.

In extreme heat, when driving for a long time at high speeds, the oil overheats in it, as indicated by the corresponding signal light on the instrument panel. At the same time, in order to avoid problems, it is necessary to stop immediately, and you can continue to move only after the lubricant has cooled down. By the way, a similar problem is typical for the variator of other Mitsubishi models: Lancer X and Outlander XL. According to factory recommendations, the lubricant in the variator must be changed every 80 thousand km along with two filters, although domestic “box manufacturers” recommend cutting this interval in half for the unit to last.

As for a crossover, all-wheel drive versions of the ASX are distinguished by good all-terrain qualities. On all cars, short overhangs, a high ground clearance of 195 mm and an ergonomic suspension contribute to confident driving off-road.

Crossovers are mono- and front-wheel drive (equipped exclusively with 2.0-liter engines paired with a CVT). The ASX 4×4 transmission is similar to the “big brother” Outlander XL - it has three modes of operation: 2WD (front-wheel drive only), 4WD (full is connected automatically using an interaxle electromagnetic clutch that can change the distribution of torque depending on the grip of the wheels with the road). axes from 85:15 to 40:60) and Lock (the clutch is rigidly locked).

The regulator of 3 modes of all-wheel drive transmission modes is similar to the Outlander XL - it is made in the form of a convenient rotating washer located near the gearshift lever.

Multi-Select 4WD all-wheel drive works in conjunction with the MASC dynamic stability control and MATC traction control systems, which imitate wheel locks off-road, and also contribute to better vehicle stability when driving on slippery roads and actively cornering. As for a crossover, all-wheel drive versions of the ASX are distinguished by good all-terrain qualities. Although, of course, they are not intended for serious off-road assault.

During operation, problems in the operation of the Outlander XL all-wheel drive transmission were not identified.

Energy intensive and durable

Compared to the larger Outlander XL, the ASX chassis is more comfortable and has good energy efficiency, confidently working out many of the bumps in our roads. At the same time, the suspensions of both crossovers are structurally similar: an independent McPherson is used in front, and a multi-link in the back. Both axles are equipped with anti-roll bars.

In practice, both suspensions have proven to be quite durable, and most often you will have to change the bushings of the stabilizers (40 thousand km of the front and 60 thousand km of the rear). Racks go much longer - about 150 thousand km, ball bearings of the front levers - up to 200 thousand km (branded ones are supplied with the lever), and silent blocks that change separately - 80 thousand km (front) and 100 thousand km. km (rear). A characteristic feature of shock absorbers is that the front ones serve less than the rear ones.

In the rear multi-link, the least (about 100 thousand km) are the lower silent blocks of the transverse levers. The rubber bands of the remaining levers are kept in the region of 150 thousand km. As the servicemen said, during operation, it is necessary to check and adjust the installation angles of not only the front, but also the rear wheels. Otherwise, after 60 thousand km, the bolts of the eccentric bushings of the rear breakaway levers boil, as a result of which, if adjustment is necessary, they have to be cut off with a grinder and new levers installed.

The ASX rack and pinion steering is hydraulically boosted. The weak point of this unit is the hoses, which, after 100 thousand km, sometimes begin to sweat at the junction of rubber parts and aluminum tips. For a short time (60–70 thousand km) steering tips serve on our roads, but the rods are able to withstand about 150 thousand km.

The mechanics who advised us noticed that the crossover brake system requires regular maintenance. At each maintenance, it is necessary to lubricate the guides of the calipers, otherwise they will begin to wedge, provoking uneven wear of the pads.

Behind the version before restyling (pictured) can be recognized by the rectangular reflectors in the bumper. After 2013 they were replaced with round ones.

Summary

Ukrainian operating experience has shown that Mitsubishi has learned to make not only cool SUVs, but also good crossovers. There are no serious claims to ASX reliability. And frequent failures will not upset even second-hand copies of it. It will attract buyers with its moderate cost, attractive design, ergonomic suspension and good all-terrain qualities.

Mitsubishi ACX is a compact urban crossover built on a shortened Mitsubishi Outlander platform. At home, in Japan, ASX went on sale in February 2010 under the name Mitsubishi RVR. In March 2010, the European version of the compact crossover was presented at the Geneva Motor Show, and in April - the North American version, under the name Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Sales of the ASX in Europe began in June 2010. In the fall of 2012, the ACX underwent a slight restyling.

Engines

In the arsenal of Mitsubishi ACX there are three gasoline engines: a working volume of 1.6 liters with a capacity of 117 hp, 1.8 liters - 140 hp. and 2.0 l - 150 hp All power units have a timing chain drive. European versions can also be equipped with a 1.8 liter diesel engine - 150 hp.

Owners of a Mitsubishi ASX with a 1.6-liter base engine from time to time note problems with starting: the engine starts the second or third time. Since the problem is not systemic, it has not yet been possible to identify the cause.

But detonation that occurs at speeds close to 3000 rpm is a more common phenomenon for a 1.6 liter engine. This "phenomenon" is presumably associated with a high compression ratio of 11.0: 1 and a lean mixture in certain modes. It is well known that detonation adversely affects the "health" of the motor. But specimens that have skated more than 50-100 thousand km demonstrate the absence of any unpleasant consequences. Some owners have noted a connection between the appearance of detonation and a change in the place of refueling. Separate authorized service centers offer a new firmware for the engine ECU, but even after the update, detonation does not always disappear. According to the "officials" - on the ASX 2012 model year, the factory firmware was changed, excluding the occurrence of detonation. But some owners still celebrate her appearance.

In severe frosts, below 30 degrees, on crossovers with a 1.6-liter engine, there were cases of squeezing oil through the dipstick and seals due to freezing of the crankcase ventilation pipe. At the end of 2011, a Mitsubishi technical bulletin was issued, requiring the replacement of the old-style pipe with a modified one - with a larger internal diameter. The new branch pipe has been installed on the conveyor since 2012.

Specific features appeared on the restyled version of the Mitsubishi ACX with a 1.8 liter engine. The motor received a different auxiliary drive belt routing scheme with fewer rollers and a shorter belt. As a result, at speeds close to 1000-1200 rpm, extraneous sounds appear, reminiscent of rattling. When contacting authorized services, mechanics often mistakenly assume that the crankcase is resonating. But in fact, the source of the sound is a vibrating drive belt tensioner. Some "kulibins" got rid of extraneous noise by independently changing the belt laying pattern. The “native” belt is not suitable for these purposes: a new one had to be selected.

The 2.0 liter power unit did not receive any claims from the owners.

Transmission

Mitsubishi ASX with a 1.6 liter engine was equipped only with a 5-speed manual transmission. There were no problems with the box. Several owners have taken advantage of the warranty due to a whistling release bearing.

The remaining motors were aggregated exclusively with the JATCO stepless variator. Most owners are concerned about the reliability of the box, and meticulously react to the slightest deviation from the usual norm. In particular, small tremors are noted when accelerating at speeds of about 2000 rpm or passing the mark of 30-40 km / h. But this is the normal operation of the variator - the torque converter is locked. Complaints about the appearance of a trolleybus rumble were not noted. However, there were some serious incidents: several cases of gearbox failure and immobilization of the car were recorded. During the initial examination, chips were found in the oil, and the official services do not disclose the final verdict. But it is worth noting that there are only a few such cases. The experience of operating these CVTs on the older brother Outlander XL indicates the absence of massive problems with the CVT.

Chassis

The first Mitsubishi ACX received a loose rear suspension: buildups appeared on bumps, which in turns led to a sharp departure from the trajectory. The dangerous behavior of the crossover was well “tasted” by drivers who prefer an active driving style. Later, on cars of the 2012 model year, the chassis settings were changed, and the problem was resolved.

The category of "consumables" in the ACX suspension includes stabilizer bushings with a resource of more than 35-40 thousand km (from 200 to 400 rubles for the original bushing). The front shock absorbers do not lag behind, which often begin to leak or knock after 40-60 thousand km. The cost of a new suspension strut is about 6-7 thousand rubles.

Other problems and malfunctions

The paintwork of the body is not resistant to external influences: chips and scratches soon appear. Occasionally there are complaints about the appearance of blisters on the surface of the side doors and rear arches. Often there is condensation in the fog and rear lights. Fog glasses often burst from a sharp temperature drop. For example, after falling snow or cold water from puddles. Often, PTF linings and the lantern itself become the prey of "auto thieves".

plas interior teak often becomes a breeding ground for crickets, especially in cold weather. With the advent of frost, in the cabin there are often “drops” from the ceiling light. This is a common occurrence on modern cars - condensation forms on the inner surface of the roof. The “anomaly” is eliminated by gluing the inner surface of the roof with heat and noise insulating material.

Over time, the leather upholstery of the manual transmission shift lever and steering wheel is wiped. In the service book, Mitsubishi prudently noted that the normal wear and tear of these items is not a warranty case.

Owners of ASX equipped with electric seats after 10 thousand km often notice the appearance of longitudinal play, which is noticeable during acceleration and braking.

Systematic problems with the climate control system and electrics have not been identified.

Conclusion

The complete picture of Mitsubishi ASX reliability has not yet been formed, but the start is good. It is a pity that they did not modify the rear suspension of crossovers assembled before 2012. It would not hurt to do something with the front shock absorbers.

Good afternoon. In today's article, typical weaknesses of the Mitsubishi ACX and problems during operation are considered. Traditionally for our site, the article is supplemented with excellent photo and video materials.

Competition among compact crossovers is now fierce. Almost every car manufacturer considers it his duty to offer buyers a compact conqueror of light off-road. Mitsubishi was no exception, which in 2010 introduced the Mitsubishi ASX crossover to the European market. And among the competitors, the Japanese "SUV" is not lost. A year later, the ASX began to come across with enviable regularity on the streets of our cities, and now the compact crossover is quite common on the used car market. And there, he is also not deprived of attention from potential buyers. But will the operation of a used Mitsubishi ASX be joyful and serene?

The body is the weak point of the Mitsubishi ACX.

The paintwork of almost all modern cars is a favorite object of criticism from motorists. The Japanese crossover was no exception. After a couple of years of operation, a fairly large number of small chips and scratches appear on the body of the Mitsubishi ASX. The Japanese crossover has not bypassed another problem of modern cars - the appearance of condensate in the rear lights and foglights. But if you can still put up with this, then it is much more difficult to put up with the bursting glass of fog lights. Keeping them safe and sound, however, is not so difficult. To do this, try not to expose the delicate glass of the foglights to sudden changes in temperature. So it’s better not to get carried away with forcing deep puddles at full speed on the Mitsubishi ASX.

Salon - cheap and cheerful.

Cabin plastic in the ASX is not too expensive, so it's not surprising that it starts to squeak a little over time. Most crossover owners get used to the creak and simply stop paying attention to it. But getting used to the drop from the ceiling lamp will not work. The problem will have to be solved. Condensation that forms between the roof and its upholstery can be eliminated by gluing the inner surface of the roof with special heat-insulating materials. It won't be very expensive, but it will take some getting used to.

Engine range - which is better to choose?

For the Mitsubishi ASX sold on our market, three gasoline engines were offered, each of which has a timing chain drive. At the moment, the owners of the Japanese crossover have the least complaints about the most powerful two-liter engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower. With timely maintenance, he will not remind himself at all.

But the weakest engine, which, with a volume of 1.6 liters, develops 117 horsepower, can cause minor problems from time to time. Some Mitsubishi ASX owners with this power unit have already complained that they are not always able to start the car the first time. But since the problem has not become systemic over the years of crossover production, the Japanese are not yet thinking about solving it. But with detonation, which sometimes occurs at medium speeds on cars with a 1.6-liter engine, dealers and Mitsubishi itself tried to fight. They released a new firmware for the engine ECU, which partially solved the problem. Although individual owners still note that sometimes detonation appears again.

There are fewer complaints about the 140-horsepower 1.8-liter gasoline engine. Only on restyled versions of the crossover, and they began to be produced in 2012, this power unit sometimes frightened the owners of the Japanese crossover with the appearance of extraneous rattling sounds. And if at first official dealers blamed the resonant crankcase protection for everything, then it turned out that the vibrating drive belt tensioner was the source of extraneous sounds.

transmission problems.

A very reliable manual transmission on the Mitsubishi ASX is relatively rare. Most of the cars that have already managed to prove themselves well on the older Outlander model. Only isolated cases of premature failure of the variator are known. And in this case, we can say with confidence that the blame for this lies entirely with the owners of the ill-fated cars.

The suspension is another weak point.

So if the Mitsubishi ASX has a weak point, then its suspension is definitely one. Not only was it tuned not in the best way on pre-styling crossovers (on cars that were released after 2012, the settings were changed for the better), but also from the point of view of reliability, it is far from ideal. The stabilizer bushings on the Mitsubishi ASX can withstand only 35-40 thousand kilometers, after another 10-15 thousand kilometers the crossover can upset with leaking front shock absorbers. The rest of the "consumables" can withstand more. And their cost is quite acceptable, so the suspension of the "Japanese" will not require any special costs.

Conclusion.

Of course, Mitsubishi ASX owners are not immune from small troubles, but the Japanese crossover will not cause big troubles. In terms of reliability, it looks much more preferable than most of its competitors. Not without reason, even used Mitsubishi ASX find their new owners quickly enough.

That's all for me today, if you want to supplement the article about the weaknesses of the Mitsubishi ACX - write comments.

Compact crossovers have long won a leading position in the world markets as a separate class of cars. Every self-respecting manufacturer produces such models. The well-known Mitsubishi brand is no exception. Their crossover came out under the name ASX.

With the release of the model, sales gained momentum. And this is not surprising. After all, according to statistics 30% of buyers, when choosing a vehicle, first of all evaluate its design. And on this point, the manufacturer tried especially.

Two years after the release of the first version, an updated ASX appeared. This aggressive car attracts many buyers. The modified version began to look more taut, dynamic and technologically advanced. Car sales have grown significantly. Attractive appearance, reasonable price with convenience and quality conquer many buyers. The creation of Mitsubishi ASX should be a turning point in the company's work. This is a new version of crossovers that should completely change the look of classic cars, pickups and SUVs. Such crossovers are becoming more and more popular every year. After all, the whole family can comfortably accommodate in its cabin. The luggage compartment will easily fit Sunday purchases. Well, 100 percent parking is achieved thanks to the convenient clearance and the compact size of the vehicle itself.

Owner reviews

Feedback from Michael, Mitsubishi ASX, St. Petersburg

I have had this car for three years. And I don't feel particularly happy about it. For three years, most of the time I traveled on the dirt road, I traveled very little around the city. Let the car even on long trips, the family went to the sea and back. About Mitsubishi ACX, many reviews of owners in shortcomings always claim that poor sound insulation. I would probably agree with this. The motor of the car is of course very reliable. However, at speeds over two and a half thousand, you have to turn up the radio and speak in full voice so that passengers can hear. Mitsubishi ASX is ideal for light off-road and asphalt. But dynamic driving in the ACX is not for those with a good ear and a sense of beauty. And if in summer even on light off-road handling is excellent, then in winter everything is very bad. It was in winter that this vehicle showed itself in all its glory. The first gear is short, you immediately have to switch to the second one with a little regassing so that the car goes tight. Sometimes it’s even scary to drive on the road. Even the smallest snowdrifts break the car and pull it to the side of the road. I can say for sure that this unit is not for beginners.
Once, in winter, he even tried to turn around in a narrow area covered with snow about 5 centimeters high. I felt like a great driver and it seemed that I knew the car well. But it just seemed. Still, I got one, albeit not a big dent on the “priest”. It is problematic to part in the yard and even more difficult to go into a small hill. But it just grinds great. In general, those who want to test the endurance of their nervous system and practice driving skills can safely buy a Mitsubishi ASX. I don't even want to talk about winter field trips. Terribly during this time tormented. Finally sold.

Bought the car, we can say by accident. I urgently needed a vehicle, so I didn’t even hope for something good for that kind of money. Of course, I really like it. Aggressive and sporty body lines, headlights and more. However, according to the owners' reviews, I read the cons about the Mitsubishi ASX only after the purchase. And only after two years of operation I realized that I completely agree with most of them. The only good news is that the car has a small gas mileage, just what I needed. However, everything else sucks. For example, a vehicle accelerates very slowly on a highway. Sometimes you even have to follow the truck. Very annoying, especially when I'm in a hurry. Very small trunk. I often go to nature, summer cottage, barbecue. So, very few things fit in the trunk. We have to put the rest in the back seat. And it's good if there are no passengers. I weigh 90 kilograms and in two years I saw that the driver's seat was crushed. All the savings on low gas mileage are more than offset by expensive components. This is my fourth car and in this time I have not yet spent so much money on maintenance.
Terribly skids on a slippery track. No winter tires can save, even though I approach her choice with great responsibility. Therefore, in winter, I don’t drive a child in a car at all. Also, the brakes squeak all the time. Though it's probably just my car. The second maintenance was carried out, but the brakes cannot be fixed. In general, if at that time I chose, I would naturally choose a better brand and model.

After reading a lot of owner reviews about the Mitsubishi ASX, I was very surprised that there are more advantages than disadvantages. To be honest, when I took a new car in the cabin, I was completely sure that there would be no serious problems with it for about a couple of years. But Mitsubishi ASX showed its shortcomings in six months. The car was in a garage outside the city. There was a small snowstorm, the motor failed, the wipers did not work. On the road on a busy highway, an antifreeze froze. As a result, I ended up on a high road in the winter with such a ridiculous malfunction. In addition, everything that was under the hood was covered with snow. I was just in shock. I called the dealers to consult, in the end they don’t know anything and no one except me opens the hood. I fixed the wipers, but now they work only once, as if by mood. The official replaced them for free.
I also encountered the fact that the “engine” icon on the control panel lit up. Dealers fixed the problem. As soon as we left them, the signal lit up again. He returned, carried out diagnostics, and so constantly. They have already begun to recognize my Mitsubishi ASX from afar. It is also annoying that the side mirrors and the rear-view mirror distort the picture.
Of the advantages, I can only note a good power steering, the steering wheel is light and obedient. The driver has a high seating position, a very comfortable seat, the back does not get tired during long trips.

Mitsubishi ASX is very unreliable. I completely agree with the reviews of the owners about all the shortcomings and disadvantages of the Mitsubishi ACX. I had many choices. But at that time I was more attracted by the muscular appearance and the clearance of 19 centimeters. Mitsubishi also specializes in the production of SUVs. Such arguments at that time seemed strong to me, and now I have ax. Extraneous noise from the side of the power unit appeared after 3000 km. Came to the service. They replaced the alternator under warranty. Now stands the old model with a bypass coupling. It turns out that the Japanese make it with a direct drive to save money. Therefore, the belt slips and causes various noise and vibration. Now a strange noise is heard, which at first manifested itself as a strong crackling sound when pressing the gas pedal while driving. At first, this sound resembled the sound of valves. Over time, this sound has intensified. And knocks like a bucket of nails. But now, not only when you press the gas pedal in motion, but also at the beginning of the movement at the start, and sometimes even while driving. We can not determine the patterns of noise in any way. I'm already exhausted. I practically don't drive it. Only to the station and back. True, there they treat my problem with understanding and fuss, trying to find the cause of the problem. This is perhaps the only advantage of buying this bucket. During long inspections, it was found that gasoline does not affect the terrible sounds, the candles are all normal. Diagnostics of the power unit, even with knocks, does not show anything. I doubt very much that representatives of Mitsubishi will confirm their advertising slogan "reliably". I have been suffering with this problem for a very long time. These knocks are so annoying that now I'm driving a different car. This one is so ... repairing slowly.

Mitsubishi ASX is not only not reliable, it is also uncomfortable. Many times I regretted my purchase. The only thing that attracts many buyers is the appearance of Mitsubishi cars. Also, the price, for some models, including asx, is acceptable to many. But don't be fooled, you won't find a good car at a low price. Yes, and her ground clearance is really comfortable. When parking, if necessary, I can call on the curb. But this is the only merit. Better save up and get a more worthy and reliable vehicle.
The car is very clumsy. The manufacturer promised that the Mitsubishi ASX is perfect for urban conditions. But this is far from true. Very bad finish. There are minor scratches and scuffs everywhere. In such a cabin, driving is unpleasant and uncomfortable. Terrible seats. Sometimes it looks like a plastic mesh under the fabric. I just want to cut and see what they stuffed into this model. Thresholds are very scratched. Solaris is much better in this regard. I sit in it very carefully, so again it is uncomfortable.
Unreasonably expensive parts. I would like to highlight this point separately. They seem to be new, but after a short time they fail. For example, a black frame on the grille costs twelve thousand. What did I pay all that money for?
The windshield blows into the front passenger's eyes. And this is regardless of how tall the passenger is. Well, there is no trunk at all. Well, that's unthinkable. How can such a big car have such a small trunk. There's nothing in there at all. The body pillars were cut from the metal tongue of the belt. Notches formed on the plastic in the place where the front seat belts are installed. When picking up speed in the cabin, the variator roars very strongly. And in general, there is no soundproofing in the car. As if when creating the Mitsubishi ASX, the manufacturer simply crossed out sound insulation from the list of important comfort items. I was surprised that at such a price, the door trim is like in a Lada. Weak power unit. There is no such additional option as daylight rear seats. Although if it were not for so many shortcomings, then I probably would not have remembered for the lighting.

Every time I am convinced that Mitsubishi ASX should cost less. And the more people buy it, the more negative reviews I subsequently see on the site.
