How to move cars. How to move a car to another city

One of the most necessary and in demand services in the automotive market is the delivery of a car from one point to another. The price of transporting cars to another city in Russia depends on many factors. In addition, each company providing this type of service has its own price list.

Why and who might need to move a car to another city and what will be the price of this service?

There are times when there is a need to use the services of professionals who will take on the responsibility of drawing up an estimate of the cost of transporting your car across Russia or to other countries and, in fact, delivering your car from point A to point B. Often people themselves cannot for a number of reasons get behind the wheel: you don’t have a license, you drank alcohol, your driver didn’t show up for work... There are a lot of cases when car owners ask themselves the question: “Where can I order a car hauling and what will be the price for hauling cars within Russia?” After all, you must admit that not everyone has friends who can be trusted with their vehicle. In such cases, the specialists of TA Peregonshchik LLC are ready to help not only determine the cost, but also deliver the car safely and securely to its destination.

How much does it cost to move a car?

The cost of moving a car across Russia - what is the calculation algorithm?

As soon as we receive an application to calculate the price of transporting a car, the manager analyzes in detail the route that the car will take. We do not choose high-budget options. Priority: quality and economy! That is why, after calculating all possible options, the simplest and most beneficial for both parties is chosen.
The next step is to directly calculate the cost of moving the car, which, in fact, is the foundation for the further accounting algorithm.

  1. First of all, we calculate the possible ways for a car ferryman to arrive at your car. There can be any of the options (flight, train, bus). Of all the possible, we will, of course, choose the optimal and inexpensive method.
  2. The price of transporting cars across Russia depends on several indicators:
    • car make;
    • amount of fuel consumption per 100 km;
    • price of toll road sections;
    • insurance price for moving a car;
    • the cost of the Platon system for those machines whose weight exceeds 12 tons.

These criteria can be called the frame of the price tag. But there are still additional points that TA Peregonshchik specialists also always calculate. As mentioned above, we are for an individual approach to setting the price for transporting cars across Russia. Based on this rule, you can never say exactly how much it will cost to move a car until all the calculations have been made.

What else does the price include in order to efficiently transport a car to another city?

First of all, you need to consider the price of insurance for moving the car. Its price is discussed by our managers with insurers individually when placing an order.

Price of MTPL policy for moving a car

Does the policy specify a limited number of drivers? Then you need to enter the name of our car hauler into your policy. There is an alternative: in this case, we suggest purchasing an additional temporary MTPL policy for a period of two weeks. This document will be valid for the entire period of our cooperation. At the end of the work, it remains with the owner of the car. The price of an MTPL policy for moving a car is standard and is formed by each insurance company individually, but within the range of prices approved by the Russian Union of Insurers. This is beneficial for the client: when submitting a temporary and issuing a permanent MTPL policy, insurance agents almost always offer a significant discount on the purchase of a permanent policy. Temporary insurance is especially suitable for those who have recently bought a car: in this case, the owner will be able to safely drive until the expiration of the policy without violating the terms of compulsory insurance.

Cost of CASCO and DAMAGE insurance for moving a car

It is possible to additionally insure your car and equipment. The agency sometimes offers to take out CASCO or DAMAGE insurance for moving a car across Russia. It can be purchased for any period of time. The managers of TA Peregonshchik will discuss the price of such insurance for moving a car individually with insurers, based on your needs. Such a policy can cover travel insurance not only within the country, but also abroad.

PLATO

When calculating the cost of transportation, the weight of the vehicle also plays a role. If the car weighs more than 12 tons, then you need to buy a PLATO road map. From April 15, 2017, the price for driving cars across Russia per km of road is 1.90 rubles.
Owners of vehicles weighing more than specified may not pay in the following cases:

  • Military special equipment.
  • Special transport of police, medical aid, fire department, rescue equipment.
  • Vehicles for transporting people (except cargo-passenger vans).

Oversize license

Any promising startup requires significant initial investments, which novice businessmen have nowhere to get. That is why projects that can be implemented practically from scratch, despite their low profitability, are always in high demand, and many consider them as the only possible source of accumulation of initial capital.

This is exactly what driving cars is. And although car driving is not a prestigious profession, many successful businessmen started with it.

Car transportation business: brief analysis

When a car ceases to be a luxury, it immediately moves into the category of marketable goods. But liquidity is a relative indicator, depending on many factors. So selling a used car in order to buy a new one often becomes a problem. Exactly the same problems are experienced by those buyers who are focused exclusively on the secondary market: often that coveted copy, which in all respects meets your preferences, including cost, is located at a considerable distance from your region.

Of course, it is not always possible to find a “window” of 5-10 days in a busy work schedule, and independent travel along a route of thousands of kilometers is very tiring and therefore dangerous. What to do if the copy you like is located outside the country? In such cases, they usually hire people who move cars professionally.

But... Every professional was an amateur at one time. And the cost of services for a less trained driver is less than for an experienced driver. So, despite the high level of competition in the niche, you always have a chance to find “your” customer.

However, if you think that only a driver’s license and some driving experience are enough for a car transport business, then you are a little mistaken. But you can be sure that the idea is working.

Here are the average figures characterizing this business:

But few people are satisfied with abstract numbers, so it’s worth considering moving a car in more detail.

Advantages of a car hauling business

Like any other, moving cars has its pros and cons. First, let's talk about its advantages, and we will describe all the difficulties as they arise.

So, the main advantages of car hauling as a business:

  • availability of minimum starting capital. Strictly speaking, you will only incur costs at the stage of registering a business. Then, if you like this activity, you can spend money on creating a website promoting this service, but today, in the era of the widespread development of social networks, this is no longer urgently necessary;
  • lack of hired personnel. You don’t even need an accountant - the documentation here is minimal, all you need is the ability to be sociable and responsible;
  • no expenses for office space - here too, as they say, no comment;
  • some distillers even get by without registering an individual entrepreneur, but this involves a considerable risk - if the employer refuses to pay for the service, your contract will not have legal force;
  • no need to spend money on marketing and advertising – free ads on social networks and specialized websites with high traffic are enough.

Step-by-step business organization

So, we have already mentioned that it is better to formalize the activity of transporting cars, for which you will need to register yourself as an individual entrepreneur.

It is this stage that causes the greatest difficulties for many potential businessmen, so we will describe the procedure for organizing a business in stages.

Stage I. Business registration

You need to decide whether you will work as an individual entrepreneur, or prefer to provide services as a legal entity - in this case, you need to register an LLC.

Official registration will allow you:

  • carry out activities legally, including providing additional services;
  • carry out vehicle repair/maintenance.

When choosing an individual entrepreneur, you will need to fill out an application on form P21001, but if you prefer to register an LLC, you will need to fill out an application on form P11001.

Stage II. Selecting the required OKVED code

When filling out the form, you will be required to indicate the type of activity according to OKVED that you plan to engage in. In our case, you need to indicate code 63.21.2, which stands for “other auxiliary activities of motor transport” related to land cargo and passenger road transportation.

Stage III. Parking rental

It all depends on your ambitions. If you intend to limit yourself to one-time trips strictly according to pre-orders, you will not need a parking lot. Otherwise, you may need a place to park your driven cars, which can be obtained by either buying or renting. But these are additional costs that may become too burdensome at first. But buying a plot of land may be useful in the future - for example, for organizing a private parking lot.

Stage IX. Selecting a tax regime

In general, the list of taxes that you will have to pay as an individual entrepreneur or LLC includes the following items:

  • from income, determined according to the taxation scheme you specified;
  • land tax (subject to the use of land for business);
  • transport tax (if your car is used for transportation);
  • insurance premiums.

Since most novice businessmen choose individual entrepreneurs, we will consider two main modes used to calculate income tax specifically for this type of business activity.

IP in general mode

Using this type does not exclude the payment of certain types of taxes at the same rate as when using the simplified regime. In general, income tax will include the following components:

  • Personal income tax in the amount of 13% of income;
  • VAT (flat rate 18%);
  • If you have property, use your own transport and land, you will also need to pay property, transport and land taxes.

The last paragraph is mandatory only in cases where the specified personal funds (property, land, own transport) are used to generate income.

IP in simplified form

The simplified taxation system is calculated based on the current tax base and includes two types of expense items:

  • 6% tax on income;
  • additional 15% of profit (the difference between income and expenses).

Registering an individual entrepreneur using a simplified procedure will exempt you from personal income tax/VAT, but property tax, calculated based on the cadastral value, is a mandatory payment.

Salary taxes/insurance contributions

If your individual entrepreneur activity involves the use of hired workers, you automatically become a tax agent. Then personal income tax is added to the above list, paid from employees’ salaries (13%). In addition, the individual entrepreneur will have to transfer insurance premiums to hired employees in accordance with the approved insurance rates.

But even if the labor of hired workers is not used, insurance premiums are a mandatory payment regardless of whether the car driver is engaged in his own business or is idle.

If the simplified tax system/OSNO is used, the individual entrepreneur can take into account insurance premiums in the expense column.

Of course, when moving a car, you will not need additional employees: this is a purely individual business. However, if the delivery time for the car is tight, it is better, of course, to work together, especially over long distances.

So, you registered as an individual entrepreneur, submitted an application and received your first order. Do you need to hit the road right away? Of course not! First of all, try to find out as much as possible about the car you need to deliver - otherwise the trip may be fruitless. Ask the customer over the phone what the main characteristics of the car are: make, model, body, year of manufacture, mileage, power unit (engine, its displacement/power, gearbox), car equipment, additional equipment - everything on which success will depend your work. Ask about fuel in all modes. It would be nice to find out about the presence of defects, especially about the condition of the paintwork.

The contract for moving a car must take into account all of the above information. A very important step is to obtain documents for the car being driven - in addition to the registration certificate, you need to have a registration certificate. It is also advisable to obtain a service book, and if you have checks confirming the completion of maintenance, these too. In short, the legal purity of a car is an important aspect that will protect you from possible problems on the road. Do not forget about obtaining a power of attorney to move the car.

What to do when inspecting a car

Having arrived at the place, you should ask the previous owner about the condition of the car before starting. Maybe. During such a survey, new details will appear that will need to be notified to the customer. Carry out the inspection itself only in daylight and with sufficient illumination. Do not inspect a dirty car - perhaps the owner is trying to hide some defects in this way.

If you are engaged in hauling professionally. You will need a thickness gauge - a device that can be used to identify the presence of “non-native” areas of paintwork, which will indicate that the car was involved in an accident. Personal protective equipment such as a “trauma” or a stun gun would also be useful - in current times of crisis, crime on the roads is steadily growing.

But no instruments can help determine the true technical condition of a car better than an experienced specialist. Therefore, as a mandatory precaution, you need to take the car to the nearest car service center so that it can be inspected by a competent “specialist”.

A test drive is also highly desirable - firstly, it will allow you to learn about the behavior of the car, its road characteristics, and secondly, often even a short trip is enough to reveal defects that were cosmetically veiled.

Finally, use a GPS tracker that allows you to track where the vehicle you are moving is at any time - customers really like this.

The most popular transport routes

As a rule, the cost of the service is calculated based on tariffs for kilometers traveled. The higher the distance you need to travel, the lower the price. Sometimes drivers negotiate with customers on terms that involve payment depending on the cost of the car (from 5 to 15%).

At the same time, drivers prefer to use proven routes, where the risk of encountering unforeseen circumstances is minimized. One of these popular routes is the route from Vladivostok to Moscow. The fact is that all the largest markets for used Japanese cars are concentrated in this Far Eastern city, and the cost of foreign cars here is 35-40% lower than in the European part of the Russian Federation.

The destinations Finland - Russia and Germany - Russia are considered no less popular. Since in Europe the quality of roads is an order of magnitude higher than ours, cars with mileage of about 100-200 thousand km are in decent condition, corresponding to the year of operation in Russian conditions, so the European direction is also in great demand.

The Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On Compulsory Motor Liability Insurance” regulates the obligations of the car owner for insurance (civil liability insurance). In other words, the law does not directly indicate how to move a car without insurance (Chapter 2, Article 4).

But what to do then if a transaction is drawn up for the purchase and sale, transfer as a gift or by will of a car; and there is a need to re-register documents: certificates of registration and registration, insurance, which are carried out at the place of registration (residence) of the new owner?

The law establishes that the owner (if he has ownership of the car) must insure civil liability and risks in case of harm to life and health, as well as to the property of other people. And he is obliged to do this before he registers the car (but no later than five days from the date of its purchase, or the emergence of another right of ownership - gift, inheritance).

  • The owner of the car is listed on the registration certificate (of the car)
  • The owner is the manager of the car, not necessarily its owner; can dispose of leases, powers of attorney and other documents.

In cases where you need to decide how to move a car without insurance, you can use a power of attorney. This document governs a limited transaction between two parties and gives the person receiving the power of attorney the right to drive a car on behalf of the grantor.

The Law “On Compulsory Motor Liability Insurance” gives the new owner of a car a period of 5 days during which he must take out insurance, therefore:

  • Together with the former owner, you need to draw up a power of attorney or an agreement for the free use of the car for the person who intends to re-register (or drive) the car
  • The document must be dated taking into account a period of 5 days
  • A new power of attorney can be issued by a notary (without his participation, only an agreement for free use is concluded - if this was indicated in the power of attorney).

If you need to decide how to move a car without drawing up powers of attorney and contracts, then in this case the owner must ride in the car as a passenger (the absence of a written document does not confirm the invalidity of the transaction - Civil Code of the Russian Federation, Article 162). If a car is stopped by traffic police officers, you should refer to the Law, Art. 4; clause 2 “About MTPL” and inform about the oral agreement for free use of the car and the legal right to use 5 days for insurance.

The listed methods are not mandatory for the manual and are possible only in extreme cases.

To solve the problem, there is a legal and civilized way that will help you complete the paperwork and register the car calmly and without nervous stress.

Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On Compulsory Motor Liability Insurance”, Art. 10

An article in the Law gives the owner the right to take out insurance for a period of no more than 20 days without a technical inspection (diagnostic) card in cases where:

  • Acquired or inherited, by will, etc.; and the car is driven to the place of registration (insurance period – 1 year)
  • It should be (transported) to the place of maintenance or repeated maintenance.

In these cases, MTPL insurance policies are issued for a specified period, which will be sufficient to move the car, undergo technical inspection and complete the necessary documents.

Receiving a car is a very exciting event for any car enthusiast. People often go to another place to get a car. city, however, the question immediately arises of transporting her to her native land.
